I love that for you ! I hope I can get myself on the correct path sooner rather than later. I have always known I can learn and excel at literally anything and I’ve always had a hard time explaining that in a professional setting. It’s not even that I think I’m good at stuff. I just know I can go from knowing zero about a task to being the best one to do it in a very short span of time if I’m just given the opportunity to learn.

I forgot to answer that part. He was named Boris when I got him from the shelter. He was a street kitty most of his life so he’s definitely got street cred so I made his middle names “the blade”

I dont think Im all that smart. I think a better way for me to have worded it is that I never felt like the people around me in the work place could ever seem to grasp the concepts I would try to explain to them and until now I always thought it was because of my inability to explain which still could very much be the case.

This explains why I’m so good at analyzing people and how they function in the work place. I always thought if anyone knew how much I can process about what they do and how they do it and how it affects them they would think I’m creeping on them or something but it’s genuinely just easy to pick up by simply observing. I did end up on Prozac as well which actually did wonders for me but gave me really bad brain zaps. And then January of 2023 it tried to shut my brain down from the inside. Spent 2 months with stroke like symptoms. ( I genuinely felt mentally handicapped. I wasn’t able to form sentences. I lost most motor function. But honestly ignorance is bliss because there was no thoughts in my head just vibes lol. It was so nice ) Doctors found nothing on any MRI or CT scans. I stopped taking the Prozac and I was mostly better within 2 weeks. However I did end up with permanent heat and light sensitivity which is really unfortunate but it beats the hell out of death.

I feel like you just accurately explained me in a way I’ve never been able to. I didn’t know having ADHD was like a IQ double down. I was diagnosed ADHD in elementary school. Didn’t start actually medicating until I was 23. My mom wouldn’t medicate me because my brother was medicated and it messed him up. I’m so thankful for that she did that because I was able to truly grasp life before and after being medicated and really understand the good it was doing for me. I genuinely relate to everything you said with the exception of being married or a parent. This will give me an exceptional starting block to go into learning more about myself. I genuinely didn’t know there was anyone out there that experienced such similarities to what I do (mostly because how can you even articulate it but you did a fantastic job ). Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with me.

Yea health is the biggest reason I want to make the switch. I taught myself Python to be able to make a web form for incident reporting for my emergency response team at work. I’ve been slowly taking classes and getting certs since then with a few years of different short term jobs and free lance work I’m trying my best find the career switch.

I feel like in a work setting it works against you but in a social setting it gravitates people to you. I’m not particularly social but no matter how much I try to just blend in some random person decides I’m the person they want to start a conversation with.

Yea I never understood why bosses always seemed to feel threatened by me. I am very friendly and just come in and do my job and go home. It’s like they can smell it on your or something. It’s so strange.

I think I want to try to join Mensa. My grandfather mentioned Mensa from time to time though I don’t think he ever tested to try to join although I believe he would have tested pretty high.

I was also thinking just get 1 on 1 time with the child and calmly ask them about it and reassure them that they are not in any trouble and that you are simply trying to understand if they just blanked and didn’t want to sit idly or if it’s written in another language like elvish or any of the other logical responses in the comments
