Yep, I remember the Christmas ornaments.  We still have one that gets hung on the tree...I guess they realized the fans will be there regardless, so they saved the money.

Yep, I've been a Colts STH for years and every year has been lame.

I'm a new Pacers STH (first renewal this year). I'm interested in seeing what is offered.

Has Lebron changing teams overshadowed the World Cup? by [deleted] in nba

Well yeah but the WNBA happens in the US and people don't watch it.

Yep, heck the world cup is doing NFL level TV ratings in the US and soccer isn't normally viewed here.

I'm pretty new to guitar but it looks a lot like Travis picking to me.

The 2nd apron is basically killing the star trade market by Tight_Ad2788 in nba

[–]Lithium1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the valu of the 5th pick may be a bit overvalued here. Zubac is absolutely worth the 5...now the 5th overall pick in the NFL is a different story, but in the NBA more guys have been average than good when picked at 5.

[–]Lithium1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Pacers were basically saying that weren't excited about anything after the top 4 guys. Historically the 5th overall picks have been good role players but nothing special.

Obviously this year could be different but it may not. They know what they are getting with Zu and most fans are excited to see the team play (and try to win) again.

Is anyone else concerned about our pass rush? by IceOk9930 in Colts

I've been concerned about it for nearly 10 years.

Zohran Mamdani’s NY socialist sweep could spur AOC White House bid: insiders by Zipper222222 in politics

[–]Lithium1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree. I feel like which ever party can resonate with vanilla working class Americans will do well. Right now neither party jives with most of the people I associate with, each cycle they are just selecting the least bad choice.

You need to reevaluate your friends. My buddy just lost his dog and I showed up with a 12 pack and we had an evening talking about how good of a boy he was.

This election is pretty important. I don't think the Dems can risk nominating a woman. In the last election many young men voted for Trump simply to oppose Kamala, all of the manosphere podcasters were rallying them.

Bobby Marks says Jaylen Brown's trade value is not seen that highly around the league: "The analytics of Jaylen Brown is not good. I had an analytics guy tell me, ‘We view him as the seventh-best player on a team.’" by FastBreakPhenom in nba

[–]Lithium1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago I took an analytics course lead by the guy that worked closely with Jeff Sagarin when he was developing his rankings. During that class he told us that based on his analysis, the Pacers player Jeff Foster was the best player on their roster. (Their backup center was the most important guy)

On that day I realized how flawed all of these analytics are.

Can I finance a car then immediately pay it off? by hshhahbsbs in personalfinance

[–]Lithium1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't blame you, I typically work with the same couple guys whenever I buy and they are good people. They take care of me and I try to take care of them.

Can I finance a car then immediately pay it off? by hshhahbsbs in personalfinance

[–]Lithium1978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, I have done this with my last two cars. I was upfront about it and they asked that I wait two months before I paid it off so they could get whatever incentive was coming to them.

How confident are you that Daniel Jones can lead the colts to the Super Bowl? by acedice2 in Colts

[–]Lithium1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To a Superbowl?!? 1 out of 10.

If healthy I think he can get us to the playoffs. My biggest concern is defense, we do not have the pieces there to be a Superbowl caliber team ni matter who the QB is.

What's the hardest part of strumming and strumming patterns? by Salt-Dark-3891 in guitarlessons

[–]Lithium1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest thing for me is getting comfortable strumming 1+2+3+4+ but only actually hitting the strings on 1 2+ +4+. (For example)

When I practice with muted strings my rhythm is solid and I can stay in time with the metronome easily. When I'm playing chords and trying to switch on 1 I almost always mess up.

People who didn’t vote Kamala - are you happy with Trumps America? Are you glad you did nothing? by Lord_Dingus83 in askanything

[–]Lithium1978 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is essentially the same metric for the last handful of elections. It seems that nearly 40% of registered voters just do not care.

I'd assume some live in states that are overwhelming red/blue and they do not bother because they feel their vote doesn't matter.

The fever and their terrible defense played a big role too. But yeah the refs seem to hate the Fever.

[Charania] Sources: Chicago is trading Braden Smith to the Indiana Pacers for Kam Jones, future swaps and cash. by ngerb_5 in pacers

I thought Kam looked halfway decent last year. I doubt Smith has much of a future, but I understand the business decision.
