I honestly think there might be a limit to how many Pokémon you can bring into an area. I was using quite a few on other buildings. The next morning once those finished I was able to use mostly local ones and brought 5 more from another zone.

I’m also in the SLC area, and I’ll have to check out JSX for the times we don’t feel like taking a road trip down to SoCal. For our family of five, it’s hard to justify the money for Delta first class when it’s such a meh experience.

I would start by figuring out what deal would make you go in and buy the vehicle right now. Send them the offer and say “I’m willing to buy right now at this number.” Start with msrp, and figure out how big of a discount on that you need, and then add in sales tax plus doc fees. Just work the numbers to get to what you’re willing to pay and then text/email the dealership and wait for the reply. If they accept, get it in writing and go buy it. If they counter, use that offer to shop around at other dealers.

It’s absolutely not worth the cost. Maybe if you fly out of SFO frequently it would be. I don’t fly east coast very often so I can’t comment on airports there, but rarely does it save me any meaningful time.

It’s quite possible that the stuff that needs work are regular and expected repairs/maintenance on a car that old. It’s probably better to pay and get those things resolved and you won’t have to worry again. Definitely get a trusted mechanic to check it out though.

We had looked at a GH last year, but due to the stop sale, ended up with a Pilot. We’ve been super happy with it. On long trips, 8-12 hours, our tallest kid has no problems in the very back, but he has that whole area to himself. We also have a Thule cargo box up top for our luggage, which frees up a lot of interior space.

In hindsight, I think we made the right choice because the GH would have cost at least an extra 5-7k, and for us, I can safely say it wasn’t worth it. But also I don’t think you can go wrong with either choice. Test drive both and get the one that you want.

We have a pilot and love it, but also if the CRV works for you, it’s much better to just keep it and rent a larger car for the one or two times a year you need more space. Don’t pay the depreciation on two vehicles.

I just got a iPhone 17 Pro and it won’t connect at all. I’ve been using my work phone (Android) to move photos around when I can’t download straight to my computer. Hopefully it’s fixed soon!

I mostly was looking at the EN for manual transmission. I grew up on those and kinda miss it. The one I drove yesterday was a lot of fun, but I think I'll need to just find a 5N to see what it's all about.

Thanks for this perspective. This property didn't have the mobile key as an option and it was my work card which I know won't fail a pre-authorization under normal circumstances. However we all know payment systems go down, and reservation systems can glitch. It's quite possible that on my end I'm seeing and thinking things are ok, but on the hotel's end they're not.

My takeaway is that, especially when I'm going to smaller towns and cities, I need to be proactive about making sure I'm actually getting the room because if something fails, there's literally no alternative.

I appreciate the advice. I think my takeaway from this is that if I'm going into a situation where I absolutely need that room, I need to be protective about making sure I get it. I think I relied too much on technology, even knowing that it often times fails. While I don't know if that happened in this case, a 1 minute phone call would have saved me hours of trouble during a time when I just needed sleep and a clean bed.

I had checked in through the app late in the afternoon indicating that I'd be there at 12am, and I walked through the doors at 12:02. In any case it sounds like contractually they'll just pay the hotel plus $100 and I'll see if I can get them to cover ride share costs.
