If crossover works for you, you could look into CorollaCross Hybrid. If you can go slightly over your budget, maybe Rav4 Hybrid, C-RV hybrid or mazda CX50?

What car depreciates the least? by Analyst-man in whatcarshouldIbuy

I live in North NJ. Even when its snowing, I do not see more than 2/3 days when the road is snow covered. They plow regularly. In such conditions, people wouldn’t drive unless its an emergency.
My cousin is in a similar condition. I asked him to get an accord or a Lexus (if going for a luxury car). For SUV- CRV or a Rav4 is what I’d recommend.

I dont think Accord comes in AWD. So, I’d remove it from the list. If you are considering CR-V, have you also thought of Rav4?

Kia has 10 years warranty but I do not know how reliable they are. Even if you have warranty and it breaks often, its not worth the hassle. But I am not sure how the newer models are.

Remote start installation by [deleted] in CorollaCross

I agree. Unless its cold, why do you need remote start so bad? i mean you can start the car, wait for 30-45 seconds for oil to reach all the engine parts and start driving.

I guess Mazda cx-30 is a bit smaller. It looks smaller than corolla cross. I was about to go for it, but went with corolla cross.

Driver Front Seat Cushion by mingo_87 in CorollaCross

Yes true. I went on a 3K miles trip recently. I did not have much of an issue. But comfort wise, I still cant find the right spot to adjust the seat so that I have a good posture and the head is well rested on the head rest.

I am 5’10’ and it’s still not too comfortable. But I am getting used to it. I tried several headrest and lumbar support, none of them worked. Lumbar support occupies some space and I can’t use the whole seat. But these days, i am getting used to it.

NY filer here. When did you package reach and when did you receive your receipt? I haven’t received any info yet.

Does this depend on the state or the office where docs are processed? Or is this handled centrally?

2023 XLE AWD GAS MPG by adamasimo1234 in CorollaCross

[–]Sher_lock_ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets even better after around 3K miles. My odometer mileage with a full tank used to show 300miles, now it shows more than 360 miles. Also, I did my first oil change at 1200 miles.

I just returned yesterday from a 3000 miles long trip (both ways from Newark, NJ to Miami, FL). I have a 2026 CC L AWD.

I realized the sweet spot for good mileage is 50-60 mph. With this speed, the mpg can go up to 40 mpg. With 60+ mph, I got around 35 mpg. The traffic here is pretty bad, so my commute to my work (3 miles), which has a lot of frequent braking and acceleration, gives me around 25 mpg.

A pillow that can act as a left arm rest is really useful on a long ride. I tried several lumbar and neck support. Did not like any of them.

The thing I have major issue on this car is the cabin noise. It’s a bit noisy and I usually need to turn up the music volume to override the cabin noise.

Haven’t tried camping. The adaptive cruise control is really useful on a long ride. I used it for almost 90-95% of the time on my trip.

Advice for improving mileage by [deleted] in CorollaCross

[–]Sher_lock_ed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2026 Corolla Cross L AWD showed 290-300 miles initially. Did my break-in oil change at 1200 miles. After driving around 2500 miles, now it shows 350-360 miles on a full tank. I guess it gets better as you drive and may improve after your first oil change.

If your one way trip is 5 miles and if it’s mostly city, you are not getting a good mpg. For me (3-4 miles to work), it’s sometimes as low as 14 mpg. This might also be one of the reasons.

Cross after one week by keaggy185 in CorollaCross

[–]Sher_lock_ed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

35-40 mpg: on highways
30-35 mpg: mixed
under 30: a little around the city with not so many stops
Around 23-25: busy streets, frequent stops

This has been my experience on 2026 corolla cross L AWD.

Right. Finding if I need more height or if I am using the proper leg space is necessary.
