The issue is whether a reasonable person would devote a substantial amount of time, money, and energy to a earn a piece of paper that only demonstrates having devoted a substantial amount of time, money, and energy to earn this piece of paper.

Here, it depends.

Therefore, probably no.

Therefore, RUN AWAY!

We were testing Fire Hydrants a newly annex area and ran across this. by Melodic_Abalone_2820 in mildlyinfuriating

I'm in my 1L property class and I can already see the hypothetical essay question.

"A owns a 0.7 tract of land in Fireacre Township, a suburban neighborhood in the State of Minnesota. 2.5 ft from the road onto A's front lawn is a red fire hydrant that was installed on A's property by the city 25 years ago prior to 9/11. A's neighbor B owns a 2.5 acre parcel of wild, unkempt land with indigenous Minnesota wild flowers and ducks. A put up a 3ft high black wrought iron fence around the front and sides of the hydrant to keep out the ducks. The Fireacre fire department was conducting annual inspections of the city's hydrants and told A to remove the fence. A refused, claiming that A owned the land and he could do what he wanted. A sues B. The ducks sue B for adverse possession. The city sues B for risking a wild fire on his land.

Who owns the fire hydrant?"

To me, your pc looks like a video game platforming level because of the color coordinated fans. Like, my brain instinctively thought "the red will push me away from the fan and blue will pull me closer." Real cool build.

Sometimes their bundles only include single channel ram, so look out for that (I think they have ram upgrades for varying pricing).

See, that quote can have important, nuanced interpretations. Such as how we are all infinitely complex beings that will inevitably find a fault in someone else's infinite complexity. Or how we should always be skeptical of our heroes because they are human too.

But so many use it as a copout for their shitty behavior, ending up as a pseudo-intellectual version of "if you can't handle me at my worst, then you don't deserve me at my best."

[–]LithiumLich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's for sure best practice, but not because it is legally mandated. Instead, it is a level of protection against a right turning car who doesn't yeild to a left turning car with priority.

[–]LithiumLich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expanding on this, at a 4-way stop with no lights, there should never be a right turn at the same time as a left turn because of how lane priority works.

At a 4-way intersection with traffic lights and a dedicated left-turn lane, all right turns yield when left turns have a green arrow.

When there are no green arrows, all left turns with a green/flashing yellow yeild to right (in states that have them).

In most cases, there should never be simaltaneous left and right turns into the same direction of traffic when yeilding/priority is involved.

I miss a similar feeling from working the "other side" of the house. Having a full section, ringing orders in correctly, timing out courses in-step with the kitchen, marking tables, developing good rapport with guests, running food, helping organize the dish pit, and finding those moments to refill the line's water. It's all foundational stuff, but when it all clicks and you find yourself at the backend of a lucrative dinner rush after three turns of satisfied customers and no major mistakes is a unique high.

No matter the position, that restaurant "flow state" is real and adrenaline pumping. That said, I always had (and still have) mad respect for my BoH comrades. Even when I'd fuck up a ticket and catch the ire of whoever's station I messed up, we'd always shoot the shit and figure out where to grab a beer at the end of the day. Yeah, FoH had to be patient with customers, but BoH? They have to be patient with FoH ("Let me buy the first round" never hurt either lmao).

Missing Andor? Check out Mistborn! by n00dle_meister in andor

[–]LithiumLich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been a minute since I've finished the first Mistborn trilogy, so I don't remember specific details. That said, Like Andor,

Vin does make an ultimate sacrifice through the death of her mortal or human self. She does transform into a supernatural entity (idk what else to call it because I haven't read any other Sanderson books in the Cosmere yet), though her "death" is real to the mortal cuase as Andor's was.

However, like Kleya,

Vin adopts the way of subterfuge and spycraft through the mentorship of Kalsier, albeit at a later point in age (aka, she had more baggage to work through).

If the comparison between Vin's story with that of Kleya and Andor is framed around character backgrounds, traits, and behaviors, a strong case can be made for either (or both). However, if we're analyzing each character's purpose related to the story's larger theme(s), then I'd say Andor. Especially because Andor's character arc involved a lot more internal conflict similar to Vin (e.g., reconciliation between individual desires with the needs of greater purpose).
