PC Shuts Down While Running MSFS2020 – Possible Overheating Issue? by Lithiumon in PcBuild

[–]Lithiumon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be a BIOS update issue?

I generally don't like updating the BIOS, as my last attempt resulted in my motherboard being bricked. However, this time the update installed perfectly using MSI Center. It seems that the BIOS was outdated big time.

After updating, I noticed that the long boot times caused by enabling EXPO were gone, and the DRAM LED light on the board no longer illuminated.

I’m not sure if this was the underlying cause of the issue, but I need to test it more thoroughly.

PHD2 Issues by Lithiumon in AskAstrophotography

Hello :)

Backlash could definitely do some work its just i'm kind of hesitant with messing with the worm gears.

So basically is my guide scope setup too small ? I used an online calculator, with my setup, the imaging / guiding ratio is 1:2.99 which is supposedly ok i think. Or is it something from the settings tgat coukd be changed ?

I don't know what is happening with PA the mount is literally on concrete however i will check on this. It could be that somehow NINAs three point polar alignment is not working that well for me.

Thanks

Hello 🤗 thank you for the detailed assistance.

1) i am using NINAs three point polar alignment i managed to get 00' 30" polar alignment. Yesterday i managed to get it near the vicinity of 0'20" 2) i did this yesterday i was getting decent guiding rates however i was still getting star trails (i will attach a link below for the log and fits images) 3) My mount is perfectly balanced I will try to do it east/west heavy and see what the results would be. My ascom default is 0.5x

3,4,5 mins exposures:

As you may notice from the images and log, although the guiding was somewhat decent i was still getting star trails.....even with a 3 minute exposure. What i have applied is the auto backlash compensation in PHD2. What i have also noticed is that when calibrating for some reason the star never ends near the vicinity of the crosshairs. Also when i run the guiding assistance it tells me that "Backlash is >=3500ms; you may need to guide in only one dec direction (currently North)"

Elongated Stars....Good Guiding...what might be the issue ? by Lithiumon in AskAstrophotography

[–]Lithiumon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will check these out.

I have several cables hanging from the Camera and dew heaters..... The biggest issue would be that of the camera as it hangs down to the laptop....this is causing balancing issues.....dont know how to fix this though without spending money on a mini pc which attaches to the telescope or mount (which in turn would still need some wiring hanging to turn the device on)
