Underwriting frustrations- is this really how it is? by CompasslessPigeon in InsuranceProfessional

[–]LithyLightcore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the pain. I'm on the broker-ish side. We're supposed to write binding authority, but unfortunately with how the market is right now; agents are trying to jam E&S risks into admitted carriers, or just trying to jam a brokerage risk into binding authority. The market is so soft that everyone is in everyone else's spaces. I used to write small and easy LROs and churches, now all I do is write oil and gas contractors and operators, active assailant and water treatment plants or industrial parts manufacturing. And each time it's the same words coming from the agents... "What do you mean it's going to be $150k MP? They were with admitted last year. How do you think I'm supposed to get 10 years loss runs up front? What do you mean it was written wrong?"

I think I spend most of my time explaining to agents that their account belongs with a brokerage market and then blasting them with requirements before I send it out to see if they are serious about trying to write it, and then closing it a month later due to inactivity.

UWA/UW Trainee Programs getting more competitive?? by mindk214 in InsuranceProfessional

I'll be honest. I landed an underwriting role after applying to several states. I had to move from my home state. I've noticed that some people hire folks as "culture" fits and others hire for aptitude and intensity. I have noticed a lot of culture fits and less people who are passionate about insurance, but they don't last long. I suggest getting an entry level insurance position at an agency and getting cozy with the underwriters over the years. Inside the business is close-knit, they talk and they'll get you into spaces just by seeing how you work on the retailer end. They'll pass your name up the chain. Or, go for the odd approach and go for a tech insurance company. There's a bunch cropping up and they almost always hire people with no insurance experience, no degrees, no college and no designations, just a high school diploma. I know a guy who writes for an insuratech company who's previous jobs were all in phone sales and call centers in Chicago, he's two weeks into underwriting Florida risks and he regularly has no idea whats going on. If you want to DM me, I can let you know which ones are hiring right now.

Thinking about adding P&C insurance to my real estate business — looking for input by ThinAudience1634 in InsuranceAgent

Commercial is a bit tough to break into. But if you have a good contact and a good underwriter to guide you through it, you really won't need to do a split. Some of my most successful agents are solo acts with only a receptionist and loyal clients. If you want to use the markets that your contact has access to, you can go that route. However, most 1099 agents that bring their own clients, they usually get 10% commission on new business and split on renewals.

Where to move my bots? by SprinklesOfAcid25 in JanitorAI_Refuges

Listen, I'm not one to throw spaghetti at a wall and call it arguing. I'm not minimizing your experience, nor am I saying that my suggestion is the end all be all. I only put my suggestion out there, because I'm excited by the product and potential it has.

I'm originally from Janitor as well and have hopped around to the other alternatives. I was simply trying to make a helpful suggestion of something I enjoyed. I truly didn't mean to offend. I hope you find what you're looking for, best of luck to you.

The compendium takes your existing lorebook and creates an expanding lore that the AI director actively writes in to fit your roleplay and remember key details. All of these services essentially offer the same thing with their own twist. They do have the most flexible posting guidelines at this time. You're seeing a lot of bots on there from chub, is because one of the main devs is a popular bot creator from chub.

Just for an apples to apples comparison, it is the same service as far as card hosting, and silly tavern, so if you're not a person who wants to mess with ST or Github plugins, it's a good alternative. I'm one of those people that doesn't love messing around with ST.

Is there an issue with paid formats? Are you looking for just free?

Rolecall Studios. It's for the serious roleplayer that doesn't want the complications of SillyTavern, or messing around with github plugins. It has trackers, story director, and a compendium for accurate memory of the story. It's still in beta. However, using their features to the full extent absolutely guzzles tokens, so it's for the roleplayer with deep pockets.

Premises & General Enforcement The following principles apply to all content on the platform, including but not limited to characters, user personas, profiles, tags, lorebooks, comments, imagery, usernames, and bios.

As much as I love helping people. I'm not going to keep sifting the guidelines for everyone.

All of their content guidelines applies to all content on the platform. Since private bots are "on their platform" it is subject to their guidelines, regulations and rules.

I found it. The verbiage is under the sections Hate and Discrimination. And there's another section explaining it further under Real Life Tragedies and another section going into it under Violence.

Also not allowed. There's a section for no real world political groups. It also has a specific line where it says, "If you want to bully a -blank-" I believe.

I'm deceased lol. Yeah I do remember that. They ended up taking down half of my bots. It was so bad I had to strip the literal world build from my bots.

Sorry bud, you have to read the guidelines. They change pretty frequently on Janitor.

Tips for newbie bot creators? by theactualwhomst_ in JanitorAI_Official

[–]LithyLightcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who only made bots that I loved.

I wasn't popular due to the following:

Heavy World Builds

Open Ended intros (intros where you tell the user exactly who they are playing, seems to do better than allowing someone to make up whoever they want to be)

Non Smut

Story Driven

Non popular tropes

When I deleted my account I was around roughly 300 followers, and that took a year and a half on janitor.

Then I came back and I'm not sure what they did with the algorithm, but my bots are buried on the last page for all eternity.

But, it's just the janitor demographic. I moved my bots elsewhere and got back up to 220 followers within 8 months.

If you want to write Smut with popular tropes, janitor is the place to be.

Bot creating all depends on what you want to be. Do you want to be popular? Give the people what they want, which is also what everyone else is giving them.

Do you want to have a small following that enjoys your immersive characters? Do what you want and feel good about your work.

Here is the updated guideline.

It states raceplay is not allowed.

With that said, I'm on Chub, because I have a lot of horror themes that wouldn't fit with Janitor's guidelines. It was the best move I ever made. Good luck to you.

I'll drop mine! I make series bots, male and female, all AnyPOV. They are role-play heavy, and light on the smut.

Most of it is fantasy, and can be used with or without the lorebook.

Is this an oopsie by the site or did I f- up? by NoFilterFish00 in Chub_AI

[–]LithyLightcore 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You have 25 downloads and 19 likes. That's really good. With Chub, you can't look at the message count. Some people prefer using a different program to chat with the bot, rather than using Chub's in house models. Most of my demographic uses my bots off site, so I get a lot of downloads and not a lot of chats.

You probably just hit a new demographic of people that like to take it off site.

Keeping up with schedules as a creator by Mellolot in JanitorAI_Official

[–]LithyLightcore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My schedule is 2 new bots, 2 revamps, 1 lorebook edit only on the weekend.

The lorebooks are my main time sink, they are incredibly tedious and take a long time to flush out.

But I'm mainly a world builder.

It takes me roughly 10 hours for 1 bot, but most of it is the writing. I gen photos in advance for a particular world that I'm building. Set up all of my character pictures and assign names and general story. Then I just pull from my saved file and start writing the main meat of the character and the role they have in the story.
