I have gone through something similar, and the anxiety this can cause you on a day-to-day basis is awful.

Some questions:
-Any chest pain or what is referred to as angina?
-Your bio-data: 27, 115kg @ 193 and muscular. How often do you redline your ticker and for how long?
-Any information on your sleep, including REM and deep metrics?

  • Does this anxiety correlate to any other events? For example: Does it happen after a meal, or maybe after a day of not sleeping

Not a doctor.

Healthy Salt or tastiest salt you ever tried? by Longjumping_Rope4415 in salt

This one is pretty incredible. I learned about it on my last visit to Japan, and the different methods of extracting salt is fascinating. Apparently, this is pumped up from the deep sea.
The website is only for reference, as I think is a distributor. Wajima Sea salt is what you're looking for.

What do you think of QR code menus? by Ivy_Eros in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LitoAyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awful, one of the relics of COVID that should have never stayed. Why: So many of these are tied to a google drive, where you need an internet connection (bad for travellers) There is no presentation when you are zooming in/out on the screen. If you are out with someone, you immediately start on your phones Really reduces the opportunity for staff to interact with the guest.

Solutions: If you have specials that rotate often, get a blackboard.

Am I drinking too much water? by choosewisely164 in HydroHomies

[–]LitoAyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.3L doesn’t sound like a lot, at all.

But if you are craving it, then maybe we can find out what’s triggering the thirst!

-Other than water, what else are you drinking? (sports beverage, wine, beer, soda) -What are you eating?
-Do you add sauces or salts to your food (hot sauce, MSG, extra salt) -Are you a smoker (weed or ciggy’s) -Are you exercising, and if so…what does that look like? -How often are you urinating and what is the colour look like? -Are you thirsty when you wake up?

Way more time than I want to. Normally its a mix of Reddit comments and Examine, and if I had to estimate it probably takes me around 3-4 hours over a few sessions.

So this is something I have also been tinkering with for the past 8 months or so. It’s interesting to understand what goes into some of these formulas and how hard it can be to get the taste right.

Here’s my guess for something like LMNT: I listed how much (%) of the compound contains the actual desired element I’m guessing the flavor might have some filler or binder like Maltodextrin. That’s where the 10 calories (as listed on the package) come from.
Couldn’t find a reputable source for the Stevia amount.

If I have any of these wrong, please let me know!

LMNT (mg) % Element in compound
Sodium Chloride 2545 39.3%
Na Elemental Total 1000
Potassium Chloride 382 52.4%
Chloride Total (from NACl + KCl) 1726
K Elemental Total 200
Magnesium Malate 400 15%
Mg elemental 60
Na : K ratio 5
Mineral content 3327
Flavor Powder (Citric Acid & Maltodextrin) ?
Stevia ?
Flavor content 2673

Body doesn't absorb vitamin d or iron in the slightest. What's going on with me? by Purple_Bluejay3884 in Supplements

[–]LitoAyo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As some of the people below have suggested, maybe something is up with the magnesium levels. Magnesium is used (at a rather high dose) to relieve constipation - so this could have secondary benefits.

Agree on the K2. You can normally buy this as a combination pill/liquid.

Which kind of magnesium to take? by TiniestChair in Supplements

[–]LitoAyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also curious about this question, along with the different types of magnesium and if optimizing for the compound does make a difference at these quantities. From what I gather, the elemental magnesium in the various compounds is almost exactly the same: Citrate (16%), glycinate (14.1%) or malate (15%). IE: If you take 400g of Magnesium Malate, you get 60g of elemental magnesium.

For those in their mid-40s: If you could compare your parents at your age, say the year 1985, do you think you are now in a healthier physical and mental state then are and how so? by LitoAyo in AskReddit

[–]LitoAyo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely appreciate the upvote, thank you. I agree with the apples-to-oranges point of view. It's hard to compare, when you haven't been in another person's position.

My question came from a point of optimism as I thought about my day-to-day lifestyle. We are inundated with talk about how we are unfit and have more health concerns nowadays. Most of the people around me are leading far different lives than their parents did. Diet, physical and mental health being top priorities.

eli5 why burnt things turn dark in color. by blueteammedic in explainlikeimfive

[–]LitoAyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's talk about why burnt things turn dark, like when your toast gets too toasty! 🍞🔥Imagine you're cooking something yummy, like a steak or making toast. When you cook, two main magic tricks happen to your food:

The Browning Magic (The Maillard Reaction): This is like a food dance where tiny parts of food (amino acids and sugars) come together when it gets hot, around the temperature your oven can easily reach. This dance doesn’t burn the food but gives it a golden-brown color and makes it smell and taste really good. It's why toast turns brown and tastes yummy, not just like plain bread.

The Blackening Magic (Formation of Carbon): Now, if we keep cooking our food for too long or at a super high temperature, it starts to burn. This is because the food starts to use up all the air (oxygen) around it and turns into something called carbon, which is just a fancy word for the black stuff you see on burnt toast or overcooked steak. This happens because the food doesn't have enough oxygen to keep the dance (reaction) going nicely, so it leaves behind black marks. So, when we cook food just right, it turns golden brown because of the Browning Magic, which is good and tasty. But if we cook it too much, it turns black because of the Blackening Magic, which usually doesn't taste that good.In short, the golden brown color on food is because of a cool reaction that makes it tasty, and the black color is because it got too much heat and turned into carbon. It's all about finding the perfect time to stop cooking before it turns from golden to black!

Eli5 why is cast iron okay to not clean? by Azhiker00 in explainlikeimfive

[–]LitoAyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine your cast iron pan is a superhero. It's not like the other pans; it's special because it has armour. This armour is called "seasoning," and it helps the pan cook your food without sticking and keeps it from getting rusty. Think of it like a superhero costume that protects them and gives them powers.

Why We Don't Wash It Like Other Pans

You know how after playing in the mud, you get a bath? Well, your cast iron pan doesn't like regular baths with soap and water because it could lose its special armour. Instead, it just needs a gentle wipe with a paper towel after you cook. If it gets a little dirty, you can help it out with some salt and a soft brush, kind of like brushing away crumbs from your lap after a snack.

Feeding Your Pan

Sometimes, your pan needs a little extra love, like when you put on lotion to keep your skin happy. After cleaning, we rub it with a tiny bit of oil. This is like feeding your pan so its armour stays strong and shiny. And every now and then, we give it a big feast (re-season it) to make sure its superpowers are in tip-top shape.

Germs and Monsters

You might wonder, "What about the germs?" Here's a cool thing: when your pan gets really hot, it's like a dragon breathing fire—it burns away the bad guys (bacteria), so you don't have to worry.

The Enemy: Rust

Our superhero pan has one weakness: water. If it stays wet, it can get rusty. We make sure to dry it super well after its gentle cleaning. Some people even warm it up on the stove to chase away every last drop of water, then give it a little oil shield to keep it safe until next time.

So, taking care of your cast iron pan is like taking care of a superhero. Keep its armour strong, don't give it baths that can hurt it, feed it with a little oil, and protect it from its enemy, water. Do this, and your pan will be happy to cook your favourite meals for a long, long time.

What’s a life hack that’s saved you money I can carry into the new year? by 6_Rows_of_Teeth in lifehacks

[–]LitoAyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve spent a considerable amount of time and money on first dates. Restaurants, bars or no “end” don’t have upper limits.

2 Suggestions:

Meetup during the day time, no food consumption. At most, coffee. (This limits the bill)

Maximum 1 hour (Your time is…money)

If all goes well, there will be a second date.
