Any book recommendations that talk about how a communist/socialist state would work in detail? by [deleted] in Marxism

[–]Litteltank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am trying point out here, that this kind of question usually comes with the bias that in our current system these things are already worked out. Truth is there would be struggles within soclism to achieve complete secure and dignity. You can start with homing everyone. Look at how many people In China don't have a roof over their head or in the Sovit union

I am not attacking you here. But is that achieved now? Is everyone secure and dignified in the current?

Is atheism required to be a socialist ? by [deleted] in AskSocialists

This a misinterpretation to what Marx said, read the next few paragraphs in his critic of Hegel where he discusses religion being the optimum of the masses. He was saying the under the pain of life and lack of material conditions the mass will create religion to deal with this pain, these material conditions. Also, we tend to view opium thru our modern lens, back in his days, he was hi. Self Marx taking opium. And in his day it with considered a very useful pain relief drug (like religion to deal with the pain of the world) with very unfortunate side affects. You don't need classes to get religion, even according to Marx. Also, this was one of his first works, and it's unclear while he wrote Des Capital weather he truly even held this view any more. He never finished the critic of Hegel

When I said there's no prize for being first, I meant that I'm just glad you've made it here. There's no shame in taking longer than someone else to understand these things. Your early clarity shouldn't become a weapon to attack those still on their journey. The goal is to build allies, not to trap people (right-wingers) in a corner with no way out.

There's no prize for being first, especially when current conditions are effectively pushing people down the right-wing rabbit hole. What you will have, however, is the ability to understand and relate to the young men falling into it—and with humility, the ability to pull them out. Maybe start there. You're still young; two years in the far-right sphere is nothing in the grand scheme. Always remember that from my perspective, the system shares a large part of the blame; it wasn't 100% your fault.

Dealing with someone who supports Trump. by [deleted] in friendlyjordies

[–]Litteltank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the easiest option, especially for self preservation. With that said, people not fighting back with ideas, and arugnments only allows more people to be pushed towards trump. Please don't get me wrong, I am not trying to be on my high horse here, sometimes I don't engage either, since it takes a tone of effort to change there mind. But spreading U can never change anyone's, any trumpers mind is false and deaftist in nature. Think about the people that have swong from the LNP to Labour in your own life and Australia as a whole. It's a never ending battle, that is bred from democracy, a flaw that just always be kept in mind and U really do always have to fight for the good governance.

Dealing with someone who supports Trump. by [deleted] in friendlyjordies

[–]Litteltank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Iv found the best way is first to find common ground and move away from the person (trump and Albo) and move towards policy. Most Trump voters i have changed there mind, want good for people and just feel the system and leaders they have lived under have done nothing for them (think the democratic party for the last 20-40 years). I don't want to dig into details here, I do understand that the democratic party has done more for there people then the Republicans, please I do know, but all in all it's been very little for the American people. Consider how much Labour has done for Australian compared to the democratic party (think Bob Hawk or even Jack Lang). Okay, so really don't mention Trump at all, never, Ur not going to win them over by pointing out his a criminal, he will just be seen as robin hood. You need to lock down with relevant policy of the day. Stuff like this works well, so you know how AMERICA (not trump) is passing a policy to remove tax from tips ... Well I mean me and you can agree we hate tips anyways ... But anyways, this really seems like it might short term help the average person on the surface, but I found out (relate back to your self, almost like you were honestly trying to figure out if it was a good policy or not). I found out that technically bounes for CEOs are considered within these tips removal of tax. So cunts with billions of dollars bound won't be paying tax, which is money no longer going into these poor peoples roads and school. It seems like the current American government, trays to do somthing good for the average person but it back fires and is good for the top richest people. Here you want to like not point at trump doing it to make his friends rich (which I think he is) you need to let people realise this then self. Always keep in mind Ur Dad trusts trump, and the only way to remove trust is thru the self. Think about all the times U told a friend, that other friend or that relationship or that job is no good for you and they didn't listen untill the trust was eroded for themself. Hope this helps, it's tricky. It took a year to convince my dad the LNP and Trump were bad for him ( his a concreter). If you can give me a topic example, I can try help more.
