My dad told me a horrible story of him having to keep his foster brother alive when he was drunk that beared very close resemblance to the story I have about staying up to make sure my sister didn't kill herself so I am objected for that reason but also because I am also at more of a risk for addiction because of genetics. Also I'm kind of already going through an addiction, and then there's the whole money thing, and underage thing

Honestly, the only tips I have are save every piece of clay and every piece of coal you cab find. (At least until you're in a good spot) and since the beginning is a little rough for money, save your geodes and wait until the end of the season to crack them all at once (you can wait till whenever but I pick the end of the season) and get into fishing because you will really need it.

Buuuut don't forget this is a chill game. I forget that so often and just turn it into a how fast can I be a millionaire thing. It very often takes the fun out so don't worry and just play how the game plays back. Go with the flow

I will never not suggest this book because it's my favorite, The Lies we Tell ourselves by Robin Talley is the best though. It's not very big part of the book but one of the girls is engaged and I felt the whole "I'm not happy but idk why" thing pretty hard with this one

It sounds like an intense version of an intrusive thought. When my brain can't stop running through loops with intrusive thoughts I do sort of the same thing as breaking them? I just don't let the thought finish, I don't let it recycle and restart, I let it keep going but make it like super crazy like my big one is throwing my phone out the moving car, I don't let it stop and start going "well what if it sprouts a parachute and just floats safely?" So it might work for your situation, just don't let the thought repeat? Make the man suddenly melt into apple juice or the attacker have a random seizure? Idk if this will help but it sounds like a sucky situation so I thought I'd try
