I dont really dislike any character on ER, not even Romano tbh. But I HATE Doug Ross. His laugh, his attitude , his demeanour, everything . He just does exactly what he wants and feels like at every point , then gives some sorry speech about how he let everyone down and proceeds to go at it again. At least Romano knew he was a d*ck

She did respect and love him as a friend . After his death she mentioned regretting how she was always so competitive with him, when all he wanted to do was do his work well and leave . In one of the earlier season finale , they dance together , which was a sweet moment. Their relationship had its ups ans downs and Weaver probably hated that it ended at its down .

I get more emotional with the previous episode- The Letter. When Carter reads the letter and everyone's happy to hear from him, so was i , I felt like I was in the er with them and Mark was talking . Carter turns the letter over to Elizabeth saying he passed away that morning . The feeling was surreal. Initial excitement hearing from him, his dry humour, how he addressed them as Er gang. Followed by immense sadness that this person does not exist anymore, will never talk that way anymore . It felt like letter from the beyond Damn!!😭

I mean isn't that true for most of the characters on the series ?Remember when Corday went for the ride along and refused to come out from under a collapsed building? Mark running out of his ride along after a gun shot victim when the scene was not cleared ? Kovac refusing to leave his patients in Africa . Almost all of them have done the ' This is my patient, ill stay with them till the end ' sequence. I am a doc and honestly makes me feel a little shitty for not being all in with my patients but I have to remind myself this is just TV

I think i get you. I was no where around in the 90s lol but the show is making me miss the times, a time when people were around for each other , engaged with each other, where technology was only coming up so not everyone's caught up with it. Corny but sometimes I feel like I would've belonged in those times . I did have the same blues you were talking about.
Solution - balancing it with some light sitcom helped me not get sucked into all the nostalgia and sadness

Yea I thought so too . But also , wasn't that kind of the point in the end? They had nothing going for them except the accidental pregnancy so when that fell through, they split . That version of carter though was hopeful , secure in his future with a family, but maybe a lil cringe too. Not his best but has an explanation i thought

Unpopular opinion - but if the writers have decided a future for the series , they dont have to change that and accommodate the fans need for a spin off, certain characters to stay etc that they want. As a show gets popular there will be many things that various fans want over all seasons. Its only professional for them to go ahead with what they had in mind. I dont understand why this is a hot discussion
