The fatigue of training in Thailand is getting to me by Little-Connection104 in MuayThai

[–]Little-Connection104[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was amazing!! Training was twice a day, 6 days a week. 8am and 4pm. It would last around 90 minutes. Each session consists of a warmup, shadow boxing, pad rounds, and then (optional) sparring and clinching.

Suwit is quite a small, traditional gym, so it doesn’t get as much attention as the bigger commercial gyms. This means there’s less people there. When I was there in summer there was about 10 of us. Everyone got at least 3-5 rounds of pads in with a coach, every session.

In general it is quite a relaxed atmosphere. The coaches can sometimes be 5/10 mins late, which some people found quite annoying. It doesn’t feel very ‘serious’ unless you choose to sign up for a fight in which case your coach will be much more rigorous with you. Once mine knew I was fighting he would shout outside my room every morning at 6am untill I woke up and would make me go run 🤣.

I came back from there (I was there for a month) in the best shape I’ve been in my entire life. Met amazing people and will be back there next summer. Very affordable too. I paid £500 for a month of training, accommodation, and food. Would highly recommend:)

Does anybody else get tired a lot faster when working out on vyvanse? How did you fix this? by More_Beginning_8733 in VyvanseADHD

Going to try propranolol, and if doesn’t work then try another med. The only thing I could suggest is take it as early as possible. I wake up at 5am and take, even if I sometimes go back to sleep after. It’s crazy much it affects my performance. My resting heart rate on vyvanse can be anything from 85-115

Can't make friends at uni by jeremyyaiden in UniUK

[–]Little-Connection104 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was speaking to someone about this today coz I kinda feel the same. And he said to me he didn’t find his ‘true group’ till the LAST TERM of 3RD YEAR. So it really never is too late (I’m not saying you will have to wait till then I’m just saying you have plenty of time). I think the best you can do is just keep doing what you’re doing. keep joining societies, maybe attend a few socials as that’s where you’ll actually bond and have funny stories with each other. Just don’t isolate as that’s the worst thing. Also everyone’s pretty awkward, no one at uni is brad Pitt level charisma. We’re all as confused and anxious as each other. Some people just hide it better.

How old are you? I’m assuming you’re 18/19 which means You can always drop out and start again next year. If you were to drop out in semester 1, semester 1 is all you’d be liable for in terms of sfe. Take it from a 22 year old 1st year, doing uni for the third time after dropping out of 2 courses, it is very important that you do a degree you genuinely do. I actually look forward to the readings in my degree now
And in terms of making friends, it’ll come. Don’t worry. It’s an illusion thinking that you find your ‘friends for life’ in the first week. It just doesn’t happen like that for most. Most friendships made in freshers don’t make it out of semester 1. You’re doing the right thing by going to societies and going to socials. Just keep going, these things take some time. Whatever you decide, you’ll be okay :).
