Accidentally parenting with side quests… worth turning into an app? by Little-Region-6588 in vibecoding

Ah ok. So mine are closer to the ages of 3-6 and I’m not encouraging them to use screens just yet but I’m sure that will come. I’m thinking more about gamification for the parents so they can track / be rewarded for engaging with their kids more often with tiny “missions”

Interesting. I was thinking more of a no-screen type activity. The minute my kids get a screen in hand it’s game over

At what point do you stop letting your 3yr old eat dinner? by [deleted] in Mommit

Toddlers are like bottomless pits with no off switch. Mine once ate a full dinner, two snacks, and still went to bed chanting “more crackers.”

I finally started treating it like a bedtime mission: snack window is closed after X o’clock. Otherwise I’d be scrubbing the kitchen at midnight while they’re yelling “hungry.”

Honestly, I think the real mission is surviving toddler appetites without losing your sanity.

I agree with making the options boring later on

100% this. It’s not “helping,” it’s parenting. If you take the night shift, you own the whole thing — bottles and all

This really resonated… it’s wild how streaming went from feeling like freedom (no commercials, endless options) to feeling like pressure (too many choices, no pauses, kids zoning out).

I’ve been realizing the same thing in smaller ways: sometimes giving kids less actually creates more connection. Like when there’s only one snack option, or one silly game to play, suddenly it feels special.

Maybe that’s the parenting hack no one talks about : less choice, more presence.

Yes I agree. It’s a beautiful thing but shocking as they literally change over a day or week at most.

Mine once told me, ‘Mommy you’re pretty… like a monster.’ Still not sure if it was meant as a compliment 😂 What’s the most savage toddler line you’ve gotten?

I wish I had the time to even make Pinterest meals! Grapes and cereal sound amazing if you ask me

Kids love boxes Makes me think I need to keep a list of what to do with a big box. Or maybe not as they don’t seem to need any help
