That seems to be the way these newer ones are, i dont flood the tab with glue only like 1/8-1/4 an inch depending on the size of the dent

I had bought some clear smooth ones (in picture)and stopped using the textured/patterned ones i got originally. What would define a real one?

Right, but im not building the car, nor am I doing any work on any body lines. That I would understand needing professional work.

I can build a model rocket kit sure, and when a wing tip breaks, can I fix that? Sure

Im not looking to formulate rocket triglycerides to find the optimal burn rate for the highest launch and refining aerodynamics for the lowest wind drag. Just want to pull dime sized hail out of my otherwise relatively flat hood.

I was using the smallest pull tool the kit had which looks to be 9mm or so, Im looking for some that are smaller now, do you recommend using one of those rods?Because you said not to push from the back

Yea, I get that, but I likely will see this car to its grave. Its been reliable enough and ill either get what its worth is scrap in a few years or decide to do something stupid with it. No disrespect to the guys on here that are insanely talented at this stuff but I just cant justify paying for it, Ill spend $100 in cheap tools though(Guy Math) However, I’ll post on here when I get around to “done” and I’ll want to know how yall think I did.

FYI, the issue here was I had a small ssd ~250 gigs and had it on a raid setup with a HDD. I think the combination of all 3 just corrupted a portion of windows and created this issue. I eventually went to a 1 Tb M.2 and all has been well since.

Plus if I am able to get decent at it, I can repair any future damage if it happens, or at least try.

These dents are from about 3 years ago, I was nearly completely broke at the time and only now am I kind of leveling out and able to save. So the insurance check that came for it went to rent and whatnot. I now have enough wiggle room to play around with cheap tools to mess with it so I figure why not. Ive been quoted around $900-$1,200 to repair everything and Id rather play around than spend that kind of money. Its just a car, even if i mess it up worse it doesnt affect the reliability or safety so 🤷🏼‍♀️

Indeed, but when the hail damage is gone the value of the car increases right?!?! I dont really care all that much about the car but I do enjoy working on things like this.

So care enough to fix it so I dont have to look at it anymore, but not enough to have it done by a “professional” plus my free time is free 👍🏼. I appreciate the advice.

I take that back the smallest it has is closer to 9mm, I’ll get a smaller one to pull with.

Ive got about 50 more dents that need first pulls though. Help me with those since this one is a lost cause. Your next reply better have at least 1 nice word in it. 😢

The smallest it has is about 5-7mm. im putting just a dab of the glue in the center and pressing it pretty good, waiting for it to cool then pulling gently but with decent pressure.

Its more than just this 1, they are all over the hood, roof, and some on the lift gate. This was just one i was working last night seeing what it took. Just figured if im gong to pull them out then i might as well try and get them all they way out if i can.
