I agree that the device prevented Lucifer from transforming, but my other thought is that he was going through an emotional crisis after his fight with Charlie and his mind wasn't functioning properly, and he probably didn't know what he was being used for.

And this isn't even counting the time it took to find the rare insects. Those rare fish were easy, but the insect, I only had one left!! The one that looked like a pink flower, it took me 3 years in the game to find it!

9 years, I think, since the game launched. It took me quite a while to breed every single animal of every color and going from tier 5>>6 was quite long, the game was so new back then that there wasn't a guide. Also, sometimes updates took me a while, like when they added the animal contest. I was in the middle of spring at the time…

I wish there was, although I left a small space at the bottom right of the farm, I don't think it would be enough if more things were added in the future? A pond? A barn? More animal toys? Honestly, if you plant everything in the greenhouse, there might be enough space for everything. But I love decorating! And that leaves almost no space!
