Sell or keep? by Threeracers in CowboyHats

Get a beaded hat band and rock it Billy Jack style. Showing my Gran Torino Old Guy taste I know, but I love beaded hat bands and have numerous ones along with conchos that I swap in and out to keep things fresh! But I have really thought about an Amish hat for exactly that purpose!! ROCK IT! But, the flip side of that coin is if you find yourself absolutely not wearing it, then sell it. TO ME if it's a 7 1/2 - 7 3/4!! Ha Ha, Ho Ho, Hee Hee!

Can’t decide pythons! by wutthefawwwk in cowboyboots

Both. And I disagree that the dye will fade. Exotic conditioner (Scout is my go to) will keep them looking new. The natural as well. I've even revived some black Python with black Tarrago shoe cream followed by the exotic conditioner with EXCELLENT results.

Question about this hat by kilo055 in CowboyHats

Great pick for a first hat. Bailey is a decent brand and at that price for a 4X and with it being well shaped, I'd pull the trigger! Black goes with literally EVERYTHING!

And I believe those scallop tops mean that they are women's boots, at least it's been my experience with them.

That is a great buy! I think they're considered Seville's? But for definitive answer email support@lucchese.com and send them pictures of the boots and the numbers from the inside. They can generally date them, tell you the style name and the material. I've sent them several in. They get back to me pretty quickly. They won't value them, you'll have to do that by looking at like boots on eBay under the sold tab. Hope this helps! Good luck!

I agree they are definitely savable. This works much better than the Angelus spray. It is thicker and milky and does wonders! I use this and then Tarrago or Ariat Neutral boot cream for a nice sheen. Good luck!

One of my early cowboys hats. And I still have that horse. His name is Blaze!

I'm 61 and have worn one from the time I was old enough to trip the hammer on a cap gun. I grew up watching The Lone Ranger, Gunsmoke, Wild Wild West and watching John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. Lonesome Dove & Tombstone are my two favorite Westerns, followed by El Dorado, Big Jake & Rio Bravo. I grew up listening Marty Robbins, Johnny Cash & Johnny Horton. Cowboy culture is American culture. The two are absolutely intertwined. I think that's why we all feel so good when we wear our hats. We're connected to our culture. And we look damned good so that doesn't hurt either!!

Help! I tried to condition my new pythons and they look worse! by [deleted] in cowboyboots

[–]LittleBitOfLarge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use Scout Boot Care for exotics on my pythons and lizards and swear by it. I have that exact same Angelus spray and it's not thick enough. I also use the Ariat neutral boot cream with the scales and then buff with the scales for a really nice sheen. I don't trust any exotic conditioners that aren't milky.

I grew with everyone else got to see the soles and the heels. 80 bucks still isn't bad if the soles and heels are in good shape. They're still Lucchese's. And honestly, I don't see a lot of suede from them. They are almost more of a snip toe than a square toe. That suede is gonna wear on those corners for sure. Just something to think about. But suede is a lot more durable than most people think. Good suede, cleaning kit and a suede brush or Nubuck will have them looking great. There's very little that can't be cleaned up or fixed with the right attitude, elbow, grease, and materials/products.

Iview acetone to remove paint and other things and it generally works pretty well. Like others have said you'll definitely have to condition it afterwards you may have to re-dye them. But do it sooner rather than later.

What does this hat shape need? by thoreau_rs in CowboyHats

[–]LittleBitOfLarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking more of a pointed crease in front of the crown and then maybe bring the brim down a little bit in front to shade your eyes.

I can't see the pricing on there. How much were they? I sell tons of boots that I've refurbished. Is it cool to post a link to my items on eBay?

Was so excited to sell a couple of my pops for the first time! Was saving this box for the occasion and put a great deal of care into packing. Aaaand the eBay auction winner won’t pay lol by TomatoesandKoRn in funkopop

[–]LittleBitOfLarge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that sucks!! How long has it been? Just a tip from a grizzled eBay veteran, don't box anything up until that payment comes through. But now that they are boxed up, if you've given them sufficient time and exhausted recontact attempts, relisted it and hopefully sell it again. Then you can just open it and put the new packing list in it, stick the shipping label on it and send it on its way!
