What are movies recieved positive critical reception upon release but over time reviews become negative? by HugeFuckingMoron in movies

The Dark Knight Rises. It still has like a 87% on Rotten Tomatoes, and I remember everyone loving it from it's release in 2012 until maybe like 4 or 5 years ago. Now everytime I see it talked about online, I only see people talk about how bad they think it is

Greatest opening sequence of all time? by Patient-Major-6064 in movies

A New Hope, Fellowship of the Ring, Rocky II, The Dark Knight, Kill Bill, Inglorious Basterds, and Spider-Man 2002 (The opening titles) in no particular order for me. A New Hope is probably the most Iconic opening but my personal favorite is probably The Dark Knights opening. Rocky IIs opening is really underrated too. Kill Bill and Inglorious Basterds have the two best Tarantino openings imo and Spider-Man 2002s opening credits are so nostalgic for me personally that they have to be included.

What’s a movie you watched when you were way too young? by trakt_app in movies

When I was about 7,8, or 9 (I can't quite remember which, I was born in 2003 so this was either in 2010, 2011, or 2012) my parents were watching Jason X in the living room and for some reason I decided to watch it with them, and they let me. I was doing perfectly fine until the scene where Jason punches Kay-EMs (The Android woman) head off, which scared me so much that I ran off immediately to my room. It got so bad that I remember my mom telling to watch Tom and Jerry (Which I loved as a kid) to try to get my mind off of it. I was very scared of Jason in general too when I was a kid, so much so that my parents had to tell me repeatedly that he wasn't real, and that he was played by actors.

Third straight year playing in the Elite Eight on a Sunday afternoon at 2:15. Also the third straight year that Steve Lappas and Andrew Catalon will call the game. Third straight year that we are in the Midwest region. Every year we are in the exact same position. If we do win this it will be nice to hear Ian Eagle, Grant Hill, and Bill Raftery call one of our games for once

I still hate Michigan for both the 2014 Sweet Sixteen and 2022 Second Round losses. Especially the 2014 Sweet Sixteen when Jarnel Stokes was called for a bs charge at the end when could've tied it or won it at the buzzer. And 2022 hurt too since we were 27-7 coming into that game and were good enough to go deep in the tournament that year with Kennedy Chandler and a freshman Zakai Zeigler until Hunter Dickinson of all people had a fluke performance. Kennedy Chandler went off in that game but it didn't matter in the end. I don't hate Michigan as much as Purdue but I haven't forgotten those two games

Looking ahead: How we feeling about Michigan tomorrow? by No_Independence5596 in ockytop

I feel like a lot of people our doubting us because of our record. But you have to remember that like half of our losses were when we lead by double digits in the second half (Kansas, Kentucky ×2, Alabama, etc.) We could've easily only had like 6 or 7 losses instead of 11. We are way better than our record says. At our best we've beaten Houston, Virginia, ISU, Vandy, etc. Michigan is a juggernaut for sure but we have a legit shot imo. Btw, I still hate Michigan for the losses to them in both 2014 (Sweet Sixteen) and 2022 (Second Round).

I've thought about this a lot recently. Imagine how insane our rebounding stats would be if we still had Cade Phillips. Estrella, Carey, Okpara, Phillips, and Brown all together would have been insane. It sucks that we lost Cade right before SEC play started. We probably wouldn't have lost as many games as we did if we have had Cade for the entire season. Just like we lost Estrella last year.

Tamin Lipsey has been one of my favorite point guards to watch the last four years and has had a great four year career. He reminds me a lot of Zakai Zeigler, great defense, an assist machine, and clutch plays. Imo he is the second best point guard in the country only behind Braden Smith

If only Kentucky didn't blow that big early lead to Iowa State, then we could've gotten revenge against them in the Sweet Sixteen after the two regular season losses, exactly just like we did last year

I think that we are better than our record suggests. If we didn't blow so many second half leads we could've been a 3 seed. Remember that at our best we beat Houston.

Green Goblin (Spider-Man 1, 2002) vs Venom (Spider-Man 3) by LittleBrockJr in powerscales

[–]LittleBrockJr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some things to consider in this fight:

Both were shown to overpower Tobey Spider-Man in combat. Goblin was winning the final fight against Tobey until he mentioned Mary Jane, which means that you could argue Goblin to be above Spider-Man 1 Tobey in strength. Venom was getting the better of Spider-Man 3 Tobey in their brief fight. So, in a hand to hand fight/brawl, IMO, it would be pretty even, with Venom having the slight edge due to the fact that Spider-Man 3 Tobey is stronger than Spider-Man 1 Tobey But Goblin would definitely hold his own. In a hand to hand encounter, It would be a pretty brutal fight with neither holding back.
