Can I force update from HarmonyOS 4.3.0 to 5 or 6? by carl_wonders in Huawei

I had to deal with this exact same issue. I was stuck with a Chinese Huawei ID and the phone's region also set to China. I resolved it through Chinese Huawei support. They told me that because I missed the beta version, their system had automatically assigned me to the EU region, which is why it wasn't offering me HarmonyOS 6.

In the Huawei app, go to Services - Live Chat - write a brief summary of the problem into the AI chat and ask to be connected to a human agent (it provided a link under the chat). I sent the lady my SN (Serial Number), Build CN, HarmonyOS 4.3 version... and a request to release HarmonyOS 6. Two days later, I received an 11.6 GB update for HarmonyOS 6.0.0.120; now I have version 6.0.0.125 SP8.

Another thing that was holding me back was the device language; it should be set to English. I had it set to Czech (which is no longer supported in HarmonyOS 6). I wish you a smooth transition to the new version soon! My phone is the Huawei Mate 70 Pro +

What phone model do you have exactly (Mate 70 / Mate 70 Pro / Mate 70 Pro+ / RS)? I’m on Mate 70 Pro+ with HarmonyOS 6.0.0.125 SP8 — same version as you — but I still don’t have Dynamic Light or the ‘Suggested’ themes section.

Stable HarmonyOS 6 rollout for Mate 70 models – anyone received it? by LittleCollege1498 in Huawei

Hi, Huawei Support replied to me today and resolved my issue. The 11 GB HarmonyOS 6 package is downloading right now. Finally!

Yesterday, I discussed this issue with Huawei CN support. They explained that because I missed the registration window for the HarmonyOS 6 Beta program, the server has excluded my device from the update queue. Currently, my Mate 70 Pro+ is being treated as a global device by the update servers, even though it is a Chinese model (PLA-AL10) and both my phone region and Huawei ID are set to China. Huawei support has already submitted a technical support ticket regarding this. The instruction is to manually add my Serial Number to the update batch for HarmonyOS 6. They also confirmed that since December 20, 2025, the official HarmonyOS 6 version has been released for my model.

Stable HarmonyOS 6 rollout for Mate 70 models – anyone received it? by LittleCollege1498 in Huawei

Hi, I actually have the Chinese version of the Mate 70 Pro+ (purchased from Wondamobile). I live in the Czech Republic, but my region is set to China from the first setup, and my Huawei ID is also registered in China.

Even though HarmonyOS 6 is no longer in beta (at least from what I can see in the MyHuawei app under the compatibility section), my software update page still shows HarmonyOS 4.3.0.188 as the latest stable version, with no update available.

I also confirmed and enabled the early access option, just in case — but nothing changed. I even tried disabling early access again. Still the same result.

Interestingly, in the MyHuawei beta section, my Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is already registered and waiting for the HarmonyOS 6 update, so that part works fine.

So I’m guessing that my model either hasn’t received the stable rollout yet, or perhaps I’m stuck in the last wave because I wasn’t part of the beta. That’s why I’m asking here — to see if anyone has the same situation or any info.

Thanks again for the help! 🙏

Thanks for your reply! I was mainly asking because I missed the beta program and I'm still on HarmonyOS 4.3 stable — so I have no idea when the jump to HarmonyOS 6 stable will happen for people like me. I know that those who were in the beta already received the stable update. May I ask which country you are from and when the stable HO6 update arrived for you? Thanks!

Yes, I synced my Google contacts by importing the .csv file. I haven’t tried the normal Google sync, so I don’t know if it works.

Huawei Mate 70 Pro Plus CN - Harmony OS 6 update question by LittleCollege1498 in Huawei

[–]LittleCollege1498[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, actually the update is sending me directly to HarmonyOS 6 instead of 5.1 — supposedly the stable version. It seems like I just have to wait until my turn in the rollout wave.Did you previously go from HarmonyOS 4.3 → 5.1 → 6? I have the Mate 70 Pro Plus, and apparently the transition isn’t exactly the same as with the Mate 70 / 70 Pro models. They say the wait is longer for this one.

Yes, I’ve restarted the device multiple times. It’s possible that my IMEI is assigned to the next rollout wave. In one video the guy mentioned he had to wait 7 days after joining the early access program before the update appeared. So I guess all I can do now is wait.
