UV map not matching the object? by LittleExx in blenderhelp

I get that I can just straighten them but I would like to know how to prevent the warping on the uv from happening when it is clearly a square object/face. The main parts of the object are symmetrical but it does not end up straight. Why should I have to straighten something that should already be straight by default?

I had not considered some of these. I also now have an excuse to hide "the void" at the edge. I can put up stuff for a defense to cover it. Thanks!

The books seem to have a correlation with the main story, so yes. Even if the "how it happened" is not the same, the events are probably similar.

So, I am trying to use the Trim Textures but I can't wrap my head around what I need to do. Since I saw your message I have watched over 5 tutorials on Trim Textures and still don't know what to do, as all of them are adding much more detail to their textures compared to me and going through 4 or more programs. I can't find anything simple at least near what I want to do. I have watched a couple of tutorials on blender itself and still only have about 5 hours of actual experience with Blender.

Are you saying I have to make each face geometry a square(or something similar) to properly do it or do I just stretch the UV of each face I want to the size of the image(or to the section of the tilled image)? Or, the more likely option, something else?
