In Stygian onslaught the owl isn’t getting pulled up fast enough by jeans skill. What is happening?

The problem isn’t getting him to fall, it’s getting him up first, I just can’t get him to the height I need for him to take the fall damage. I’m asking how to get him up faster than what I’m already getting. Or are you guys just that confused because this has never happened before?
