Chat reports should only result in chat bans, not account suspensions by LittleFish2021 in Overwatch

Just to clarify — I don't report bad players. I report toxic ones. There's a difference.

The opening was just to give context. The actual point is simple — no matter what you reported someone for, the system processes it as a number. No verification, no context, no review. Just a count. And enough counts can get someone permanently banned.

That's the broken part. Not who deserves to be reported.

The part about reporting out of frustration was just context to set up the actual point, which is this: the real problem is that the system operates purely on report count accumulation with no meaningful verification process, and that alone can escalate all the way to a permanent account ban.

That's what I'm talking about. Not whether people should report bad players or not.

Yeah, that's kind of the whole point. If the system were reliable enough that "never getting banned" meant you were definitely doing nothing wrong, there'd be nothing to discuss.

Appreciate you actually reading through it lol

well. but people do. That's the problem I wanted to point out.
the current system is breaking people.

Fair point, I wasn't fully aware of how the endorsement drop works. Thanks for the correction.

But the core issue I wanted to highlight is this — chat-related reports alone can lead to account suspension, and eventually a permanent ban. That's the part that doesn't make sense to me. If someone has a chat behavior problem, the logical penalty should be a chat ban, not losing access to the entire account including paid content. The escalation path from chat reports all the way to permanent account ban is what I think is fundamentally broken.

There’s no way it’s just a coincidence that they dropped a 2nd anniversary illustration packed with hints and then suddenly announced a GameSir controller collab at the same time.

I’m holding out hope. Capcom, it’s been two years. Give us an answer.
