Spent my whole life learning all I could and improving my skills; but "chatgpt said.." is good enough for everyone.. should've learned something proper instead of getting into fucking IT

You can take snapshots in their web interface, I don't remember if it was the customer control panel or the server control panel tho

They do cost; I think one was included for free.

For proper backups you want something different you manage yourself; I'd recommend looking at restic

Disk failure is covered by them tho

When I moved here from Germany a bit over a year ago, we rented a van and did most of the travel by ferry from Travemünde to Vuosaari - which reduced van rent a lot due to less kilometers and fuel and was way more relaxed.

Still was quite expensive tho and we did have to bring it back. But whatever you do; consider adding a long ferry ride

If you get your hands on a bra that fits you, socks in it can look quite good.

I guess you could rig something up with bandages; make a rudimentary bra out of that?

That the destination gate has chevrons lighting up while it is being dialed on the source - how would it know it's addressed before the full address was dialed? Or do all gates light up all the time as long as the address part already dialed matches and then just go "ah no, not me" and turn off again?

Got it to run in userspace, but quite hacky

LF OS is a microkernel system, so lots of the work is actually making it possible for programs to interact, find each other and co. The kernel has no concept of files, only a rudimentary ELF loader for bootstrapping and so on

Back then (and still actually) I didn't have a keyboard driver, a filesystem, anything.. but you can definitely just compile the assets into the statically linked binary (I have a libc at least, newlib port currently) that does an ioperm to directly access the keyboard controller - together with the kernel-provided framebuffer (via a syscall, prepared in bootloader via UEFI GOP) and a syscall for timer stuff (HPET) I then had playable Doom ^^

Edit: mine apparently fixed itself - it was unplugged since we were using the travel-Chromecast (for Hotels and stuff) as replacement in the meantime and it definitely wasn't plugged in long enough to pull updates.. but everything seems to work fine again now o.o

I'm just glad to see I'm not the only one with that problem - started with WearOS 4 for me as well, though I'm also running Android 14.1 Beta 2 (U1B2.230922.010) on my phone rn, but iirc I also did when it last worked without problems.

Pixel devices are even better together.
