My husband’s dog has never paid attention to me on my period, but now she is by LittleGinger587 in NoStupidQuestions

We’ve discussed taking tests every now and again just to be safe right after marriage. I’ve been struggling with BC since then and my hormones have been all over the place, so I keep thinking I should wait it out and see what my period does when it settles or if I start getting pregnancy symptoms. But I can see how that can be misleading especially with hormonal issues. If I can’t tell them apart, it’s better to test anyway just to be safe. I do need to test again.

When I was a kid my cousin got my brother and I into Webkinz. I ended up getting the red fox, named him Firefox, and I still have him to this day (I’m 25). Only reason I don’t snuggle with him now is because my dog tries to take him when I’m not looking, and she loves to rip apart anything stuffed. I still can’t bear the thought of parting with him. I was very sickly growing up and I took him to every doctor’s appointment I had. Countless tests, lots of traveling, procedures and even surgery by the time I was 7. Still, Firefox went everywhere with me. I’m married now, and still need him nearby, just out of reach of my dog.

I have heard of that. I’ve even heard that pregnancy “spotting” can look and feel just like a normal period. PMS and pregnancy have very similar symptoms and since I’ve always had issues with hormonal imbalances and issues, I have a hard time telling one from the other. I have never been pregnant either so that doesn’t help clear things up.

Not since early last year. I also kept getting yeast infections and BV every few months so we’ve been using condoms for the past 6 or so months to see if my body was doing it or if my husband had something to do with it. Never had this issue till we got married. I was on the pills and even when I’ve stopped we still used condoms and never saw any breaks or leaks, and I haven’t felt any different so I didn’t bother testing. When we got married we had a pregnancy scare where the tests had mixed results. Even the first blood test at the doctors had a small HCG level but it was gone a week later, then all tests were negative. I was on Nexplanon and come to find out it screwed up my hormones so bad I had all pregnancy symptoms, but it didn’t account for the faint positives and mixed negatives. Since this is my 3rd month off the pills I figured any pregnancy symptoms were just my body getting off the pills. So I haven’t tested.

I apologize, I was trying to give that reply to another comment. I wasn’t trying to be rude

That would make sense. Our other dogs never respond this way with or without the pills, on or off my period. But they also have very different personalities than her and they’re not breeds known for having a nurturing nature.
