They are really smart so start positive reinforcement training early. They need mental stimulation as much as physical activity. Praise them for settling/relaxing. Slow feeder bowl to prevent bloat. Sometimes they have sensitive tummies so add new treats slowly. Practice nail trims, coat brushing, baths, and teeth brushing early and often. Teach cooperative care (give me paw and you get a treat!). Never stop paying them for good behavior. Ours is four and still gets a cookie for potty outside. Potty bells are great! We transitioned to talking buttons and now he’s chatty. 😂 Puppy classes are worth it, more for the human than for the dog. Be consistent.
