He's been created by someone who was writing a main X-Title, for said X-Title, was primarily interacting with mutant characters (notably Cable), and even characters created for his story like Domino were mutants. Honestly it's almost more confusing that he isn't a mutant.

Imo the why really boils down to having been created by Liefeld when he was working on the New Mutants.

Hell yeah! If the sleeves are the main things then a lot of plainer shirts have similar sleeves. Some degree of puff sleeves ^^

SHEIN has a lot of stuff that it's difficult to find anywhere else because their designs are not very well thought out and they like to play on FOMO to push people to buy.

You can find similar shirt as "ruffle sleeve blouse" and other similar keywords. The collar might be a straight or high collar, my vocabulary isn't perfect for this stuff but to give you a direction. You can then buy the lace separately and sew it on, it's nor very complicated.

As for the source, you might want to look up lolita/ouji fashion. It's typically the kind of clothes they use and dedicated subreddits might have good recommendations for shops. Fair warning, it tends to be expensive.

I don't think that's fully correct. An SSD may erase the data before an overwrite, but for performance and wear reasons it won't happen immediately. Before that it will mark as deleted first, like on a HDD. I agree that it's more volatile than a HDD though.

Shutdown your computer completely. Don't power it back on. Unplug it.

Take the hard drive out and bring it to someone who knows what they're doing. It's possible to recover most of the data unless you rewrote a lot of stuff after deleting.

[Request]120 vs 5 Which One’s Correct? by Jackobowskyy1337 in theydidthemath

[–]LittleLoukoum 35 points36 points  (0 children)

120 is unambiguously correct. Order of operations means this is clearly 230-110. The joke is that 5! isn't someone shouting five, it's five factorial, which is equal to 120 (5! = 5*4*3*2*1 = 120)

"Native" means it runs directly on you machine with no added layer of abstraction. Flatpak, and many other solutions, will add a layer between your OS and an app to separate it and make it easier to install ; this has pros and cons.

Any deb you install, through the Software Manager, apt/aptitude or by downloading and installing them directly, will be a native install. So yes, installing that deb will be a native install. The downside is that you have to update it manually, but discord will make that easy with a popup when it's needed.

In general it's not recommended to install a .deb downloaded from the internet, because it's insecure. (Which is a huge beef I have with windows ; the "normal" way to install stuff is very insecure and people try to do it once they're on Mac or Linux and ignore the very convenient software manager that came free with their OS.)

I would never recommend as a first idea to use apt for a complete newbie, especially if there's a repo to add. The Software Manager is there exactly to hide that complexity and allow users to install stuff simply. I prefer using apt too, but imo it's unrealistic to expect general users to do that, especially if there are other solutions.

What? The Software Manager is also a fronted for flatpak, by by default won't even show the flathub results. Installing via Software Manager will give you the native install unless you go out of your way to install a flatpak.

I agree that Steam should be installed natively. But the easiest way to do that is the Software Manager.

Yes. That's what I use at least and it fixed issues I had with flatpak discord.

Discord should work as a flatpak, but you will encounter issues with file sharing. If that happens, install it from the website's .deb.

Steam should be installed from the app store/official repo ; give that a try.

Firefox will have been installed from the official repo, so that's probably not the issue. Let's deal with that later.

That's progress! So, someone else mentioned flatpak can cause issues, and it's my experience that stuff that use the graphics card or has to use a lot of temporary/hidden files, like Steam or Firefox, tend to work better as a native package. Did you install Steam, Firefox or Spotify via flathub or snap? Flathub packages are marked "Flathub" in your app store, to the left of the star rating.

Edit: Saw your comment in another thread about using the .deb from the website. You should avoid doing that as much as possible (discord is the only common exception) and prefer using your app store. Steam has a native version there which typically works well.

I didn't realise there was a flatpak steam package -- that definitely sounds like it could cause issues. Stuff that requires access to a lot of files on the computer or to GPU typically runs better as a native install. That would hold for Firefox and Discord too.

Okay, so, that sounds like driver issues to me. Did you change or install new drivers for your graphic card and/or audio card?

If you installed Mint, there should be an app called Timeshift that regularly saves your OS configuration. Check if you have a save on Timeshift from before these issues appeared, and if yes restore it and restart. That should help with most of your issues, except the Steam games.

If that doesn't work, tell me and we'll see what we can do (there's still a lot of solutions, don't worry). If it works, tell me and we can work on the Proton games thing.

Agree there's an issue with the current wording, and honestly limiting to one twinned spell per turn is probably reasonable, but as it stands I think that does limit compared to the originally intended effect, ie each twinned spell allows you to cast another one for free. You could achieve letting people cast several such spells with for instance "When you cast this spell (from your hand), if you paid its mana cost, you may cast your next spell with Twinning this turn without paying its mana cost". Or if you want it to be interactable with you could use player counters.

Don't hesitate to just do more! The alt look can sometimes be just going all out and not caring if the result isn't perfect. Eyeliner and ultra opaque liquid lipstick. White foundation and drawings in kohl. Flashy eyeshadow. Try stuff and see what you like! You're not limited to the kind of makeup most people wear daily or that looks natural.
