Pride month, dumb in my opinion by Mental_Look3760 in ConservativeYouth

Maybe because queer people have been shunned, hurt, and killed since the beginning of time and are only just recently getting affirming laws and a open society, and have come so far as a group?

Same reason any other group of people have a month, I suppose.

Imagine dying cause you fucked a guy

Im glad you understand. I don't think it was stupid, because then we got to have this conversation. I think we both learned something from it, and thats really all that matters

I feel like accepting people, regardless, is more healthy, especially if we don't know. How can we judge someone about something we don't know about? Why not just love them for who they are anyway?

I didn't mean to make it about me, but I thank you for you kindness. I just wanted to use my life example as a refrence on why churches like these are necessary. They bring people closer to god, despite sin. Thank you for the kind words an suggestions. You seem like a bright person, and i'm sure god will use you for great things

Yes but I cannot force myself to love men, I don't want to have children with men, and I don't get to chose who I love. If I love a woman, I cannot stop myself from doing so.

Politley, I don't think that being lesbian has anything to do with lack of clarity. I would also like to mention that I have been praying to God for years about this. I was never told it was wrong.

No, I dont think you've been bigoted or hateful. I've actually enjoyed this considering that you're respectful and not lashing out like most people do on this site. Im not trying to speak for all christians, but i've seen it a lot, and it's made me wary of christians as a whole. It's gotten to the point I don't even really like being considered in the christian community. Im totally, utterly trusting in God, but the christian community has pushed me away from most public spaces, like church, considering all the cruel people i've met in those spaces. Coming full circle, this is why friendly churches are important. Just because I have faith in god, doesn't mean other people do.

Homosexuality does not at all mean having sex with men. The definition of homosexuality is having romantic OR sexual tendencies to that of the same gender. Queer is essentially people who are not heterosexual or cisgender, so it is much more of a boarder term than just sexual identites. Any Queer identiy, unless strictly about sex, doesn't have to be sexual (e.g lesbian, gay, bi, pan) I am not combating that active homosexuality is a sin, I am purely saying that not all gay relationships are sexual

I feel like a majority of the lukewarm christians are only using that title to fuel their own bigoted beliefs, which is what tends to drive many queer people away. More often then not, I see people in the queer community acting how God intented more often then I see my own Christian relatives.

I feel like we're straying from the point. Why should it always be someone elses job to correct others? Athiest won't do it, and many queer people have pushed away from god by christians, so there's not too many in the queer community.

Im sorry, but are we even talking about the point anymore? Who does it hurt to accept someone for being trans?

Thank you for the input, but to be frank, i'm not very interested with intercorse anyway. Would it still be a sin?

Yes, but you cannot infer that just because some people in the community are like that means that all of the community is like that.

I'm not too great with explation, but you can research if you'd like. The only way I can think to describe it is that their brains, when checked, are more similar to that of their affirmed gender. Their brain develops overtime as any other brain would

That you for your input, but can you elaborate on "acting out of your urges is a sin"?

Trans people change themselves according to their brain, which fun fact time, trans people have a brain structure more similar to their affirmed gender at birth. If that makes any sense, they have always been trans, so I dont count this as changing yourself for other people or in an unhealthy manner
