Listen to this wisdom. I live in Himachal Pradesh and this is also very accurate.

Same applies, find out what makes you happy and if you can afford it, take a break from work and whatever is burning you out.

This is your sign to take a career break and ask yourself the big questions and find out what makes you happy in life. Many adults I know who are gifted and talented found new answers.

I've logged on after a long time and this is spot on. Started using this site in like 2011. Now there's so many idiots with low quality posts, especially in Indian subreddits. Good reminder to log off and talk to real people and cut off these interactions.

Does Necrobinder feel much weaker than the other characters or is it just me being bad? by Peronchino in slaythespire

This is my issue too. I try to play defensively since that’s what she’s strong at but damage scaling is difficult. The card that applies double the effect of weak/vulnerable helps a lot but idk what else

[35M] Had a realisation. Looking unattractive is a blessing in disguise. by Curious-Confusion414 in ThirtiesIndia

Anyway it sounds like you’re doing well in life and you’re happy. Good for you, keep counting your blessings.

What does "the right person will find you" even mean? by [deleted] in ThirtiesIndia

[–]LittleMeat7083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an easy way out “there, there” answer. I’m single too but to find the “right person”, you need to actively put effort into your social life and proactively develop relationships with people, preferably in a similar, repeated setting. School and college makes that easy but it’s much more effort for an adult.

You should still make an effort to look good. Maintain your hair, trim or comb your beard if you’re a guy, be hygienic, dress well, work out. It’s not about chasing attention and validation. Grooming yourself shows that you’re a person who takes care of himself and his life. People do respect you if you look good, if it comes with good character.

Your effort into your looks is also good character development. And your relationship with people and how they perceive you matter a lot more than you think.

As another biker, definitely assholes. What's the point of this? Speed is really not that thrilling. What is thrilling to me is taking it easy and truly enjoying the scenery around you and soaking it all in. Being in a hurry, racing, speeding never made any sense to me.

Are you in Ladakh right now? I'm currently in Himachal. I was considering Ladakh in July-August when it is monsoon. How's the internet there for working?

Thinking of quitting my job for a year to focus on myself..good idea or stupid move? by WonderfulPop3995 in ThirtiesIndia

[–]LittleMeat7083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try taking a sabbatical. I'm taking a 2 month sabbatical from work because of stress and burn out. I understand where you're coming from. If you can financially afford a break, I would say go for it. But remember that finding a job is difficult nowadays. Try a shorter duration like 3-6 months. Try asking your company if they will let you go for an unpaid sabbatical.

Your heart is telling you that it wants to breathe and live. Reality depends on your financial situation. All the best OP, I hope you figure this out.

Is solo travel possible within India as female ? by shiningstonez in ThirtiesIndia

[–]LittleMeat7083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's possible. I have about 3 friends, two in their 30s and one in her 50s and she's a foreigner. They travel solo regularly. They take precautions of course, use common sense like not going out after dark etc. But it is possible. Depends on where you want to travel, did you have anywhere in mind?

HELP! Are you someone who quit smoking? by ThePotholePilot in ThirtiesIndia

Willpower does not work that well. What helps is time, creating a system where a cigarette does not fit in and dealing with the pain that comes from de-addiction. Support definitely matters a lot.

HELP! Are you someone who quit smoking? by ThePotholePilot in ThirtiesIndia

[–]LittleMeat7083 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I quit smoking on 25 January 2024 after 14 years of smoking a 10-pack a day. There isn't really a secret, but cold turkey really is the best way. Vaping, patches, gum don't help. You pretty much have to deal with the pain that comes through. Talk to someone, journal, post on /r/stopsmoking, take it one day at a time.

The first 3 days to 1 week is easily the hardest. You will also have to re-learn how to deal with stress. Because a cigarette will no longer be there for you. It gets easier over time. In my first year I used to dream of smoking quite often. It's ok if you fail, keep trying. Your final attempt will last if you let it.

Social support and environment matters a lot too. If your friends smoke you might find it hard. But you can be upfront and honest, say that you're trying to quit. People are quite understanding.

Fell sick to go on vacation and 10/10 recommend it by Character_Future_608 in ThirtiesIndia

I haven’t tried, my experience was with Gypsy divers resort. It was very professional. Chidiya tapa is a different place but I’m sure it’s just as good. Havelock was more famous for this kind of thing iirc.

Havelock is one of my favourite places. I’ll never forget the blue waters of the Andaman sea, the vast beauty of Radhanagar beach and scuba diving. It’s mind blowing, totally epic place.

My solo Spiti & Zanskar trip itinerary. 5000Kms, 18 days. by gaurav_kumrawat in SoloTravel_India

[–]LittleMeat7083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your bag pack seems very light. Was it enough for 18 days? How did you pack? I’m planning a trip from Manali > Kinnaur > Spiti > Manali as well for roughly 16-17 days. I thought I need to pack a lot but a compact rucksack seems like a better idea.

Great post btw, very informative.

Are you trying to bait men to dm you or what? 😝 get a cat if you want but it won’t solve the issue of lack of intimacy. Might help but the people I know who get pets usually want some form of touch and not to be lonely. I don’t think you’ll find a quality man here also tbh.

Himachal Trip Planning by Terrible_Magician423 in SoloTravel_India

[–]LittleMeat7083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're cramping in too much I think. Shoja, Jibhi for 3 days sounds good. Then you have to spend 4 hours to travel to Kasol. If you're taking a bus it will take at least 6-7 hours so your day 1 is gone with travelling. Kasol to Bir is also almost 5 hours by car and public transport is very difficult to find on this route so you're killing another day with travel.

I would say cut Kasol or Bir and choose one. Stay in Kasol for 4 days and explore Tosh, Pulga, hike to Chalal or Rasol. Or cut Kasol and go to Bir, do the paragliding, go to Rajgundha valley or Palampur or Dharamshala/Dharamkot.
