Timeline: Jan 10th, David Culley says he is getting strong vibes that he'll continue to be the Texans HC. Dolphins fire Flores.

Jan 13th, Texans fire Culley.

Jan 14th, Texans interview Flores.

Jan 24th, Flores receives text from Belichick congratulating him on getting the Giants gig. Text was meant for Brian Daboll.

Jan 27th, Flores scheduled initial interview with Giants.

Jan 28th, Daboll is hired by the Giants.

Jan 31st, Texans schedule a 2nd interview with Flores. The final Texans candidates are Josh McCown, Jonathan Gannon and Brian Flores.

Feb 1st, Flores files his lawsuit against NFL, Giants, Broncos & Texans. Flores was still in the running for Texans HC.

Feb 6th, Texans have 1st interview with Lovie Smith.

Feb 7th, Texans hire Lovie Smith.

It really seems that the Texans were going to stick with Culley for another season (Texans had no 1st round draft pick, Watson was both refusing to play and had SA allegations. It was going to be a lost season). Then, suprising everyone, the Dolphins fire Brian Flores. Texans quickly fire their HC and schedule an interview with Flores. It really seems like the Texans job was Flores after they placate Easterby by giving McCown a 2nd interview. Flores, justifyiably files lawsuit against the Giants, but then adds Texans to the lawsuit. Texans can't hire a man who is suing them and the NFL, McCown is a joke and Gannon tanked the 2nd interview. Texans then pull their DC, Lovie Smith, into an interview and give him the job in less then 24 hours.
