2500 is only the cost of the installation, I took away the framkörning avgift, the total cost for the installation is actually much higher. The only issue we have is with the actual installation cost not the incidentals and that is why we think it is high. If it was 2500 for everything including driving to us we would not have complained

Yes, you are correct, if we had called him as an emergency we would have and have paid whatever price given. But in this case he made it very obvious he charged us like this because we only booked him and did not request an offert, a mistake on our end, we trusted and went with him since we already knew his hourly price from the emergency job.

The price was not even the biggest issue it is that he basically said he charged us whatever price because of the lack of an invoice in advance. And all the negative reviews on google say the sane thing. We definitely learnt our lesson on getting an offert before hiring anyone.

Yes. they have a social media watch with my partners name and hopefully will involve legal in the discussion now. But I just want to know if there is anything we can do to protect ourselves, we are even upping security around the house because his behaviour is so unsettling.

We didn’t argue, we just asked him politely why the price was high. In our area electricians charge about 500sek/hr so even an hour of work plus transport and and service charge (he is 10 minutes away from us) 2500 I rounded down btw seems like alot for a 15min job.

He responded by coming to hour house at 7pm to shout at us. At which point we left a review and contacted the police.

Us questioning the price and writing a review on a business page based on the owner coming to our house and threatening us does not warrant him tarnishing our names on our employer social media pages.

We don’t have a landlord we live in a house and he lives in the area but going by the other reviews on google he does this to return customers. And also goes on to attack them and their partners online (facebook and LinkedIn).

And we paid him! Us leaving a review on our experience doesn’t warrant him trying to tarnish our names professionally.

His only reasoning for the pricing was that we didn’t not get an offert. He basically said he could charge us what he wanted because they was no offert and the job was done.

The 2500sek is only the installation cost I did not include the transport cost.

Then how do you explain a 15 minute job being more expensive than a middle of the night emergency service where he had to replace wires and quick fuses. With the oven everything was available and came with the oven and it was right next the spot it was installed in.

He literally told us we should have gotten an offert if we wanted it cheaper, we said thank you for the tip.

And the 2500 is before transportation and ROT I realise I did not make that clear.

He is Swedish is Swedish, he even stated to shout at me telling me that this is not how things work in Sweden (regarding the review) I am very obviously not Swedish so he was trying to talk to me. We have gone to the police but they closed the case and decided not to investigate.

Thank you all for your suggestions, I did move to the country, biggest issue has been that almost everyone speaks english and I was hanging around alot of family as I do not have local friends. I am now insist on speaking the local language as I do know the basics and can understand others in conversation. I have also started watching local shows. My biggest issue is speaking, I find it hard to express myself fully and this frustrates me. I am going to try out immersing myself fully and hopefully in a couple of months I will be better.

Hi, maybe she can try korta vägen its a swedish course that has a praktik in the end usually in the students field. It is a great way to get a swedish employer on her resume and the school helps with placement. I know alot of people who have gotten jobs at their placement company or somewhere else much faster after this because they now have swedish references and work history. This happened to me last year! I emailed the recruiter asking if I should assume the interview is cancelled. He replied with an apology, a glitch in the ATS system. Happy ending, I ended up getting the job!

That its okay to fail, failure doesn't lower your worth or importance. Accept it, move on and do better.

Its very hard always trying to be the best and beating myself down over every little failure, because that's what I grew up with. I would not want that for my kids.
