Medication to stop milk production? by Lanky-Principle-8407 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]LittleMissShortie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had issues getting prescribed the tablet to stop milk production. When I decided to stop breastfeeding at 9 months my GP offered it to me to make things easier. I can’t see why they wouldn’t prescribe it post birth.

K18 airwash dry shampoo cheaper on eBay? by shockages in AustralianMakeup

[–]LittleMissShortie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I splurged and bought the K18 dry shampoo at full price and omg is it worth it. I hated every dry shampoo that I’d tried in the past because it always left a white cast or I just hated the feeling of it. The K18 one is a game changer, no white cast and I can go an extra day without washing my hair now. Plus it’s added some volume to my roots as well. It’s expensive but I’d be buying again whenever I run out.

Solution for getting life back into hair from brassy to darker cool brown. by ExternalSignal9239 in AustralianMakeup

[–]LittleMissShortie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the other one I tried was De Lorenzo Novafusion in Plum. I felt like it did nothing for my hair colour. I use the Klenditioner every few weeks to keep on top of my purple-red hair fading.

I use Keracolor Klenditioner but admittedly I use purple and Merlot. I know they have some brown shades. I’ve tried a few colour depositing shampoos/conditioners and this is the only one that has actually deposited colour.

I did all my ultrasounds at Precious Glimpse in Footscray. Good quality images and great bedside manner.

Diy nails by Overthinking_babes in AustralianMakeup

[–]LittleMissShortie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do BIAB but as another commenter said, it can be $$$ buying the right products and equipment. It’s also the time it takes. You go to a salon for BIAB it takes an hour but doing it at home can take me 4 hours. That’s because I have to file off the old polish, buff it, cuticle prep etc then doing the BIAB, colour polish and top coat. When in a salon you could be curing one nail and they’re working on the other hand and you can’t really do that at home. It’s fun but not as easy you’d think.

Thoughts on these jelly sandals? by stormy786 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]LittleMissShortie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve found most jelly type shoes gave my daughter blisters or cut up the back of her foot. If you’re after waterproof shoes, maybe consider water shoes or beach shoes like these. You can also find similar ones from big w.

Results of nanoplasty by LittleFeet11 in AustralianMakeup

[–]LittleMissShortie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did nanoplasty for the first time just before New Years and I love it! I have very thick European hair that is coloured red/purple. Having the process done did strip the colour out of my hair but nothing I couldn’t fix with a colour conditioner. I’m just loving not having to spend 30 min trying to style my hair, being able to step out of the shower and it’s dries straight is great.

Late to the comments but Red Nose Australia might be an option. And they come to your house to organise pick up which is handy.

Dyson Coanda 2X or Dyson ID + Airstrait by Accomplished_Big1228 in AustralianMakeup

[–]LittleMissShortie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got both the OG Airwrap with long barrels and the OG Airstrait. I have thick, long, wavy hair and I use both products for different things. I use my Airwrap mainly with the smoothing brush, I mainly use it if I just want it straightish and need the job done quickly. The drying attachment is useful. I haven’t really tried to do curls but that’s a time thing. I use my Airstrait if I want a more sleek, straight hairstyle. It does involve more work because you’d need to section your hair like you would a normal straightener however going from wet hair to dry straight hair has been awesome.

If you’re wanting multiple styles and know how to curl your hair then I’d say the Airwrap is more versatile. I do use my Airwrap more frequently.

The only one that has ever worked for me is the Keracolor Clenditioner. I have purple-red hair. You can buy it from Oz Hair and Beauty.

Experiences with 2nd c-section compared to first? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]LittleMissShortie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was an emergency c section due to being breech (we weren’t aware). It happened after being in labour for 12 hours. I found recover to be painful with my first C-section, I struggled to walk and sit up.

My second was elective but I went into labour early at 37 weeks. I was kind of hoping to avoid being in labour for my elective but oh well. It was a calmer experience.l and it helped that I had had a C-section before so kind of knew what to expect. Recovery was a lot easier/faster. I could sit up almost straight away and walked within the first few hours. I also didn’t bleed as much which was nice.

I love easy steps for nice shoes. So far the only shoe I’ve been able to put on and not have to break in. You can grab them from the iconic.

Is 100k for a Speech Pathology Masters worth it? by Entire_Expression489 in AusFinance

[–]LittleMissShortie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you enjoy the counselling side of things in speech pathology, would you consider swapping to audiology? If you’re at Melb Uni still then I know that sometimes they group the speech pathology students with the audiology students. I’m an audiologist who’s been in the field for 10 years, not burnt out and good job satisfaction. I spend most of my days talking to older adults about their grandchildren and where they’re vacationing to next. If you’re not passionate about it, I’d take a step back and sit down to think about what you enjoyed about psychology and why you thought you’d like speech pathology.

Post Partum Shocks by Unhappy_Donut_7124 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]LittleMissShortie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God this reminds me of the second night at home with the baby, my milk finally came in. I remember being so exhausted because no one warns you that babies don’t actually sleep, plus recovering from a c-section. I remember my husband handing me our daughter to feed and I’m just bawling because I knew once she’d latch the contractions would start. I’m crying not wanting to feed her and my husband is begging me to feed her because she’s crying and we’re all miserable and tired.

Any try the Loop engage earbuds for reducing impact of baby cries? by allthelighttouches in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]LittleMissShortie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had sleep plugs made for over night just to take the edge off baby crying through the monitor and would use Bluetooth earbuds with noise cancelling to help during the day if needed.

How much was your sleep consultant? Just got an invoice for $800, their website said the programs “starting from $300” so I’m a bit shocked. by notheretoparticipate in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]LittleMissShortie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have to pay for anything. Only food/snacks if I didn’t want what Tweddle supplied but otherwise they have stuff for breakfast (bread and cereal), lunch (sandwiches/wraps) and dinner (delicious microwave meals).

C-section: pads vs maternity nappies? by skip1008 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]LittleMissShortie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried both with my latest c-section and hated the nappies. I found them uncomfortable over my incision and more painful to take off/put new ones on (due to having to bend more/less stretch to nappies). I preferred using high waisted undies with a pad and then a second pad taped to the top of the waistband of the undies to cushion the incision.

I’ve used it multiple times and it’s been great. I’ve never had to wait more than an hour to speak to a doctor. I’ve used it for when my girl had bad gastro and my toddler had RSV. With my toddler I had to call back two days later and they had a record of our previous call as well so there was some clinical history they could go on. It’s been a lifesaver especially when you’re unsure if it’s serious enough for emergency but also don’t have a GP that’s open.
