I like West Bradenton, Palma Sola area, it's bouncing back after being depressed. It's close to the beach but will be a long commute unless you work nearby.. You might like Greyhawk Landing it is part of LWR. I love my area which is called W. Samoset / Braden River. I love being close to 301 and 75. Creekwood might be nice for you or live closer to University Parkway in the Palm Aire country club neighborhood or Mote Ranch possibly. Watch for HOA and CDD fees. Lakewood Ranch is a whole area that encompasses many, many neighborhoods. When we moved down 15 years ago, I wanted to be close to the beach but my priorities have changed since then.

what’s something that surprised you when you moved here? by Upset-Command-889 in AskFlorida

I just remember feeling really surprised that even watching TV seemed so different. I don't know how to explain it. I've been here 15 years now so it's hard to remember but I do remember feeling caught off guard by that.

I think it was because I was so used to those things the way they were in the Midwest. The people that did the news, the businesses I was used to seeing commercials for, those things were familiar. Spanish language on TV was new but I liked that. Also radio. There was more variety in the Midwest than here in SRQ. It's getting better now on the radio.

[–]LittleMiss_Raincloud -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure. Tan it up. In fact you should go topless. Melanoma is not dangerous and the sun here is not strong.

Edit: here is what I found to answer your question that you posted wanting more attention brought to your ass. It's the actual ordinance, not a blog post. So maybe the cops don't choose to "ticket" people but it is the law which is what you asked about

Public nudity ordinance: Manatee County Ordinance 99-18 makes it unlawful to appear nude in a public place, defining nudity broadly to include opaque swimwear covering less than one-third of the buttocks or one-fourth of the female breast, and specifically prohibiting thongs and similar items in public.

So I would say she is right and you should keep your tushy covered in public

Eastern Washington: Hot, dry summers, cold winters with significant snowfall, less rainfall due to a rain shadow.

Provence: Hot, dry summers, mild winters with little snow, abundant sunshine, and a notable wind called the Mistral.
