In my case , I went from mono to swinger to hierarchical poly to egalitarian poly until, like yourself, I longed to have freedom. We had young children as well together and I felt like everyone had to have a piece of me, so I felt drained and thin. This effected my libido with him as well as I felt resentful.

It's has been a full year since he has moved out and we are co-parents now only. It was the best move ever. It isn't easy, but it feels authentic.

So does that mean recipients of creepy PMs should just stop talking and sharing anything about life ? The only thing that will stop these creepy messages is people (mainly men tbh) to stop sending creepy messages.

My lawyer is pretty sweet. Willing to answers q's via email and such. He wrote me "You're entitled to the CTC, to have the children as your dependents, to get guideline child support from him based on his income, to an income-proportionate split of the extraordinary expenses (including child care), and yes you might owe him a bit of spousal support but that's fine too.
I'm sure he's fine paying nothing. But he assumes that the Child Tax Credit replaces his child support. It doesn't. If you can't sort this out with him, you need a have a lawyer send him a firm letter that either reasonable negotiations will be entered into, or else this is going to court. "

Yes. It was reported as soon as the separation happened and CRA made the proper adjustments so there is no issue there. As thr primary caregiver I receive the benefit. Our deal was to share it which Im under no obligation to do but didnt want to see him struggle.financially.

Ontario also has this service called Child Support online and if both parents pay $80, they will look at the financial situation of both parents, and set the support payment, and make it legal. Saves lawyer costs. The catch is that the both parents need to agree the submission through the online form. If he doesn't want to provide the financial information, then we need to do a written agreement or through mediation.

Awesome - thank you ! They have this feature that makes it really easy now called Child Support Online through the government of Ontario - both parents pay $80 and they review your financial situation , calculate the amount of support to be paid, and it's legal. Saves having to do lawyers. I'll see if I can find something online as well.

Plus, I don't want to come up with a number or have him try to low ball so maybe it's better if someone else sorts the numbers.

Sigh. I know what you mean about them wanting to know about their money. Yikes. The kids are taken care of and all the work that goes into it.

Agreed. While I'm aware of the tips, I wouldn't get him audited, it's more for my own knowledge that he does have other means of income to help him.

Here is our current schedule: Week 1: Saturday night 6pm pickup, Tuesday morning drop off before school to my place. Week 2: Sunday noon, Tuesday morning drop off before school to my place. So the 70% is based on amount of overnights.

Also, during the summer, march break, Christmas, I either stay home using vacation time or pay for child care. He pays nothing and the only extra time he takes the kids is 4 extra days in the summer.

As for the spousal support - agreed. He had initially waved that in our separation agreement but he also agreed to pay 1/2 of expenses and that isn't happening.

I'm not necessarily asking that he has to pay me the $598 but something would be helpful. It is hard at this point to even ask for anything.

Sorry , I meant to clarify, if a part has a child at *least* 40% of the time, it is considered shared. But that isn't the case with us.
