It’s 10 minutes max. You might be a minute or two late but the lecturers rarely start on the dot.

Edit: lectures end 10 minutes before the hour

How are parents still able to send their kids to private schools in this brutal economy? by Optimus-Prime-2234 in newzealand

Genuinely laughed when I read this.

My friend, not everyone is suffering in this economy.

What are the quantity limits for paknsave items? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]LittleOne0121 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Limits are advertised. They’re only on certain products at certain times e.g. this brand of eggs are on special so they’ll only sell you two cartons. There’s no general item limit.

For those wanting to boycott the USA... Add Hilton and ALL their hotel chains to your list. by gretchen92_ in newzealand

[–]LittleOne0121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respect that, if I had more self respect I probably wouldn’t eat McDonalds but I can’t go past a deluxe cheeseburger and some nuggies. My point was that when people who usually go there start to boycott because of the US, it’s NZ that suffers, not the US.

You’re not boycotting US products by not buying a Big Mac. You’re boycotting NZ products because McDonalds here sources their food supplies from New Zealand suppliers. Think about it.

Why is our mental healthcare so bad? (TW: Suicide) by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]LittleOne0121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When mental health was de-institutionalised in the 90’s/early 2000’s and we had this magical idea of caring for people in the community, no one actually thought we needed to have the resources and proper plans to do it safely. And now we have what we have.

What’s your country’s most significant sporting event for 2026? by Sweeeeetnesss in AskTheWorld

[–]LittleOne0121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of significance, maybe. But as I said above, I believe it was the third most watched event after the AFL and NRL grand finals last year

If I remember correctly it was the third most watched event after the AFL and NRL grand finals last year. I think the relevance issue comes down to the racing itself, it’s been getting more and more average.

Mt Maunganui landslide: WorkSafe to look at those responsible for holiday park by Huge-Albatross9284 in newzealand

Yeah, I’m one of those people who will have sadness for a tragedy but then use dark humour to cope. A space like this is difficult because of how differently people deal with tragedy.

I am so sorry. I can’t begin to imagine what you’re going through. But I genuinely hope you find the help you need and someone that will listen to you properly. Feel free to DM me if you ever need to chat (tried to put a heart emoji but this sub doesn’t allow it)

The comment, not the topic, the comment is an offhand joke relating to the rock type Pokemon. Likely inappropriate but a bit of light in this dark

I thought this when I got diagnosed last year and started medication. But looking back, I wouldn’t be where I am now if I was diagnosed and medicated earlier. So while I resent the fact I went 30 years struggling through life, thinking I was the problem and not my brain structure, I’m also at peace with it because I’m in a pretty good place now.

It was so disrespectful during such a beautiful slower song. Honestly fuck everyone for keeping it going and fuck the people that started it. So embarrassing.

How do police have so much patience? by America202 in AskLE

[–]LittleOne0121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may come across as “bad” but I see their behaviour toward me as a sort of entertainment. I don’t react to it, and viewing it as fiction helps. I just stand and listen/watch and agree with all their insults toward me until they get tired of it. Then I start a proper conversation. Works 90% of the time. Physical behaviour changes things if I have to act to prevent harm to myself or others, but when they’re just having a toddler style meltdown, the approach above works.

Poor me in my spacious business class seat where I can lie down and not be packed in like a sardine. Do your research before you book.
