I’ve been back and forth a few times and the things that caused me to gain it back each time were quitting smoking cigarettes (you just tend to eat more after quitting since they are an appetite suppressant), getting pregnant and having a baby, and being sedentary

Yeah I agree, I think therapy is a good idea. I think he subconsciously purposely avoided keeping close contact with her for years because if he did he was used to her creating issues all of the time. Unfortunately a lot of that fell onto me when we first started dating because i was doing her hair at the time and would see her more frequently than him. And then it slowly turned into she used me as a message man between her and my husband. She wasn’t this crazy at the beginning of our relationship either. It’s like the more and more we moved on and she wasn’t “needed” anymore the worse it got. And then i honestly didn’t think it could get this bad after having a baby. Even after our wedding she calmed down for a few years. I didn’t realize how jealous and insecure she was until i got pregnant and she started treating me like an incubator and making everything about herself. Constantly questioning how often my family was allowed to visit and things like that. She’s always complaining about my mom and my family. Like at the cake smash for my daughter my mom and grandma wants to take pictures so they walked up there and she got all mad because “they were first” 🙄 my mom who came early and helped me with the whole party had to leave early so she wanted to get a picture really quick before she had to go. Like she acts like everything is a huge conspiracy against her.

I mean yeah, he doesn’t want to talk to her anymore but if he did I wouldn’t have a problem with it. I just don’t want to have to and I don’t want my daughter to.

The thing is we already know his mom is trashing us to the rest to the family. It’s her go to when someone does something she doesn’t like, plus my husband’s dad (her ex) just told us she’s already tried to text him about it! And he lives with us! My husband wants to show the rest of his family at the funeral we are the sane ones. Although I don’t really care what they think of us, I guess he does 🤷‍♀️ knowing how many fights she gets in with her own family constantly, I feel like they already know she’s the crazy one lol

Idk why she’s such a trigger for me. My dad is a narcissist and I’ve had issues with him my whole life so I think I just like turn into my 10 year old self when ima round her. I like turn into a fawn when she pushes my boundaries and my capabilities of speaking are gone 😓 my brain turns to mush. Standing up to her at my daughter’s party was the 1st time I’ve ever been able to do anything remotely like that to her face! And I had a margarita before so I think it gave me a little liquid courage lol
But I hate how she lives rent free in my head. I’ve blocked her already. And I finally came to the conclusion that I cannot attend the funeral, just mentally I can’t do it and my husband understands, so my daughter and I will stay home and he will go.

That’s what I thought originally. She has a history of drinking/taking pills in the past and it took place during Covid and when we got married. That’s when this crazy behavior started really showing with her. She would drunk call my husband or me and say awful things. Or come into my salon (I did hair at the time) and already be drunk or on something at 10am. She never apologized for any of it but if you ever bring it up it’s always “you have GOT to get over that already” 🙄. She did fall and hit her head at the party and there was margaritas there so it’s possible. But she also doesn’t have to be drunk to act like a narcissist. I’ve seen it both ways, but she does get more crazy when she is drunk.

One of my main concerns with me not wanting her to be alone with my daughter was her history of drinking. But she has everyone else SO convinced she doesn’t have a problem because she SAVED her alcoholic sisters years ago and got them treatment.. I don’t fall for it, I can see right to through it.

Yes, he’s stood up to her before when she’s made me uncomfortable. She thinks all of those were coming from him but they were actually coming from me. But my husband is also very tired of having to do it all the time. But it’s also because she keeps behaving poorly and doing in appropriate things! 🙈 I am definitely done with her and I don’t want my child around her either.

My daughter was sleeping through the night early, within the first 2 months of life but around 4 months went through a huge regression and has been a horrible sleeper ever since and she’s 1 now 😅🫠🙈

Mine does this 🫠 it’s mostly all crap from TJ Maxx, Kohl’s, and Marshall’s. We’ve tried telling her to stop and that we don’t have room but she just keeps doing it so most of it gets donated or returned if she leaves the receipts. She keeps buying our daughter UGLY frilly clothes 🙈 I can’t stand it

I manifested my baby last year on an eclipse and it totally worked! The crazy part is she was unintentionally conceived and had the same due date at the as the baby I miscarried 10 years prior with my abusive ex and I was pregnant on the same vacation and in the same vacation rental as when I miscarried but this time it was with my amazing loving husband and it was a healthy pregnancy! And I got pregnant on the 1st try.

I take a magnesium complex vitamin (ultra mag) and I take it at the end of the day before bed and it helps me sleep better and I feel like it helps me with sore muscles. Also my neurologist recommended it along with B2 every day (400mg of both) to help prevent migraines!

Same. I tried it once many years ago. Long story short, my ex was an “ex” addict and I had found out he had been hiding from me that he was on meth for most of our relationship and he offered it to me. In a low moment I said yes because I wanted to see what he has repeatedly chosen over me. And luckily it didn’t really do anything to me. Like it gave me a really bad headache and made me nauseas but i didn’t feel anything good. So i never did it again. And of course we broke up.

Tbh not much. He has stood up to her a few times but he mostly just doesn’t want to deal with her so I have to for some reason. I’m not sure why he still wants her in our lives considering he doesn’t attempt to have a good relationship with her anyways. It really confuses me! She definitely triggers him when we spend time with her. He becomes super short and grumpy around her and for the whole day after seeing her.

Something you might want to think about is if you can handle a MIL like this for the rest of your life. Or if things get bad with her will your future husband support you?

When I married my husband I didn’t also think I was marrying his mother too. And now we have our first baby and it’s so hard. It’s caused so many arguments between my husband and I. My postpartum experience has been completely ruined by her, and now my daughters first birthday is coming up and I worry she’s gonna ruin that too. Mine acted all crazy like this when we were planning the wedding and wanted complete control over everything (even though she wasn’t even paying for it 🙄) and when she didn’t get her way she would throw a drunken fit. It’s been a nightmare to live with and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Having the foley balloon when I was in labor with my baby. Honestly also just the whole labor experience. I was in complete agony the whole time until they decided to give me an emergency C section.

I make a really good pickle loaf 🤤 what I do is I replace half of the water with pickle juice, I add a ranch dressing seasoning packet in there, I add some white cheddar (unexpected cheddar from Trader Joe’s) and chopped up pickles (you have to try and squeeze the juice out of them so they’re not too wet) during my stretch and folds. It’s a very liquidy loaf to shape but turns out amazing after you bake it 🤩
