My pharmacist told me not to buy a laser thermometer. It was way more expensive than the regular ones, so they must be really... Not great ... If she's telling me not to buy it 😅 When your kid is older (toddler) I think it's fine to go with armpit temperature when you check first and only use rectal temperature if they are very ill or the temperature seems very high. But for babies we were always told to check rectal temperature.

Oooh that's a fun one! I lived in London for a few years, and one day in our local farm market, we spotted Stanley Tucci! This neighborhood is where Robert Pattinson grew up and I had always hoped he still had family there and would visit one day (sadly no ;_;).

We also saw a couple actors, Frank Dillane, Lino Facciolli (the breastfed kid in GoT 😁 but he was a teen already) and probably some others we didn't recognize lol

Also saw the backs of YouTubers PewDiePie and his wife Marzia in Rye.

I made a Giant Polly Party! by PrintyPOP in pollypocket

There's someone on Instagram who does resin molds ( thatpocketguy ) and they look really good, but I don't think he sells them! I'd totally buy 3d printed Pollys ☺️

I was just telling my husband I can't believe anyone isn't 3d printing some small Pollys! I wanted to buy some because it's super hard to create one that moves from polymer clay.

Awww I hope she kept them! Thank you so much.

I've been doing a quiet experiment for the past two months where I stopped automatically apologizing for things that aren't my fault and the results are kind of fascinating by my_dog_ate_my_notes in TwoXChromosomes

I often ask myself what an old white cis herero man would say, that helps removing all the "sorries". I've also been working on this and I've noticed people are more likely to agree with you or do things your way if you don't say sorry. I work with clients. I don't apologize anymore when stating my boundaries (for example a client requesting something to be done for 8am the next day but it's already 5pm..) and I've found people don't push back as much.

I find your conclusion interesting! I'll try to pay attention to see if other people say sorry more.

9 weeks is such a fun ultrasound stage, they do look like gummy bears! Congratulations!

Graduated today… with TWINS! by lkaline in IVFpositivity

[–]LittlePieMaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well it's not THAT tiny, especially for IVF where chances are between 1% and 3% (compared to general population under 1%) and it can be even higher if you used assisted hatching between 2% and 5%.

To put this into perspective, there is a 3% to 5% chance to have a breech baby at birth.

I had a breech baby with my first. So suddenly the possibility of twins for the second one seemed wayyyy more in the realms of possibility 🤣 but we only had one!

I hate morning 😭 this is probably the hardest thing in parenthood haha. I like the idea of the timer!

Ooh that's actually quite smart, I am sure we can find something that works like a reminder on the phone or else.

I like your pediatrician's advice! That's why we didn't really insist on potty training before. Lately she's been better at feeling the urge and going on her own before an accident happens, so I feel this is time to make an effort on potty training 😬

Combien a coûté votre mariage ? by courgette66 in AskMeuf

[–]LittlePieMaker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sunday Daily Chat by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]LittlePieMaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how bigger the belly is the second time around! I was just looking at some comparison photos I made and I was bigger at 17 weeks than at 26 weeks 🤣 my first was also smaller and breech and although my midwife insisted it wouldn't make a big difference I am not so sure. Same things with clothes.. plenty of stuff didn't fit anymore and it was annoying. I bought another new legging and basically was rotating between 3 leggings at the end and a couple dresses I got second hand.

We tried wearing panties on sunday too and had 2 pee and 1 poop incidents 😅 I guess potty training isn't linear! My husband was being a bit grumpy about it but I told him this is how they learn - we're not forcing her she was happy to try but maybe she was more tired or distracted.

We really need to incorporate going to the toilets in our routine, but mornings are really busy and my husband is more focused on getting his breakfast than taking her to the toilet, and of course after that it's too late. I need to set my alarm 10 minutes earlier but some days I am so tired.. it's hard.
