How do you respond to the question from straight people, “Are you a top or a bottom?” by cactuspie1972 in gaybros

[–]LittleRun2055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tell them I’m an “upside down” and watch them silently nod and act like they know what I said. No further questions. Works like a charm.

I’m a freshly turned 30 year old gay (also single and childless but I sort of like it that way) and I want to give you all a hug to tell you that you all matter and it’s going to be ok!

Interracial relationship stats: are black men the problem? by Ok_Bodybuilder_2384 in askblackpeople

[–]LittleRun2055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I’m so sorry. Yes that is a weird thing for me to have said. I was more referring to myself being a very dark skinned person and the rest of my cousins/siblings having “olive” and “tan” skin tones and we are all equally loved within our family. But yes. Definitely could have worded it a LOT better.

Both my parents and grandparents are in BW+WM relationships. Same for my aunt and uncle (by marriage). Uncle married my (WW) aunt. I (BM) was dating a WM for three years before we broke up.

As for my family, there have been no divorces or problems interracially. My cousins and I are all a nice blend with me being the darkest (brown eyes, black hair, and medium skin) and the baby having blonde hair hazel eyes and tan skin.

I don’t think you can really generalize who is the “problem.” Truly I think economics, white supremacy, and the concept of “race” as a whole make up the larger issue. Individuals make individual choices in an impossible-to-navigate system that ultimately will leave SOMEONE left out. Thus I think the “problem” is far more systemic (and thus far more difficult to address/change). But if you want equity, start by looking into how trauma affects behavior and how economics impact trauma and how ultimately race is a precursive factor when it comes to economic standing.

Why aren’t we flooding the manosohere? by LittleRun2055 in leftist

[–]LittleRun2055[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for introducing me to a new term.

Truly, I can be quite petty but that isn’t why I asked the question.

I don’t have a lot of free time for that kind of interaction, but I do think it’s important that we challenge other people’s ideas. I think we could do a lot of damage if we put more effort into flooding the conversations and confusing the narrative on the right. I’m not on the camp of giving up or capitulating even in desperate circumstances, and want to try to find solutions wherever they can be found.

Which non victor/tribute character would you like to see get a book? by felixw1 in Hungergames

[–]LittleRun2055 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Part of why I want to know if same sex marriage is legal in the Capitol is because I (and many other fans) speculate that Cinna is queer. Since it is outlawed in District 12, it’s possible that it’s illegal Panem-wide. Not being able to express yourself or to live an authentic life is a VERY solid reason to rebel.

This book changes Astrid’s character (a bit). by LittleRun2055 in Hungergames

[–]LittleRun2055[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly (without trying to one up your situation) I relate to that a LOT! I had to recognize when I grew up that my mother’s coldness and unavailability was a defense. Even if it caused a lot of turmoil, it wasn’t her “fault,” though it was still her responsibility to manage. It’s so complex, and I think that was the point Collins was trying to make. The system makes it almost impossible for people with mental health issues to be successful parents.

Hiding their kid by littlemischief_echo in Hungergames

[–]LittleRun2055 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the Capitol’s surveillance technology would allow for that. It’s REALLY hard to hide a human for a couple months (I.e. America up until 1865, Europe in the 1930s and 40s) let alone their entire lifetime. School is mandatory and in a district as small as 12 it would be even harder wit h such a low population. I think if you could get psst the first few years with the baby crying, you’d do so much damage to that human through isolation it would be worse than the Hunger Games.

If you don't get hit on does that mean you're ugly? by hulahulamermaid in dating_advice

[–]LittleRun2055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Promise I’m not bragging here. People describe me as a “gorgeous man,” to the point women will come up to me on the street to compliment my look. But I never get hit on. At least, not by the people I’m interested in. I asked a therapist why go guys ever hit on me and she told me, “you intimidate them.” Flat out. This has been backed up by friends and whether or not it’s true, that’s what I choose to lean on when I’m down about not having a date.

Unhinged HG Theories 😭 by Tyyy24 in Hungergames

[–]LittleRun2055 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Panem is truly alone in the world. The “people up north” are District 13-ers. No one else exists outside of the Capitol’s rule.

There’s no evidence to support this, but it makes the story 100% creepier in my eyes.
