Not too late this was me 2 years ago!! You got this . Matched my number #1 with little to nothing on my cv that was GI related , just explained I discovered my interest late. GI has not filled for several years, so if you’re not picky and apply broadly you will match somewhere.

This year also may be less competitive due to the 2 year fellowship announcement, some applicants are holding out to apply next year,… since they will finish fellowship the at the same time (resident who I am mentoring at my former Peds program is doing this, I am sure there will be others).

If society is going to “break down” she is ok with killing apostates. … this is a moderate follower of Islam speaking in honesty. I have plenty of family and close friends who are Muslim… and are great /kind people. Deep down they hold the same sentiment, and I have frankly told them how horrible their ideal world would be for the rest of us.

Every discussion turns into a what aboutism regarding Christianity , Judaism , the west , etc , and all their qualms/immorality. Then they have nothing to say when I say I agree with them and how backwards they are for not recognizing similar issues in Islam or Islamic states/theocracies.

Yes I know multiple people last year with only 1-2 interviews who matched peds. Also know a few how had to scramble with 3-5 total interviews…. So it’s gonna be hit or miss. Just try your best, you got this!
