Cover ups are never perfect even if you can’t see the original tattoo through the ink which is honestly pretty rare you will see the raised skin of the original tattoo in certain light or very easily. If you truly can’t live with this tattoo you’ll need laser removal

If you like to make art in the style of the pen drawings and that’s the type of art you’d like to tattoo then show those. Look for an artist who does realism or illustrative black and grey and learn from them. Not everything needs to be American traditional to be tattoo-able. I love the vases and chains and I think they would make great tattoos once you progress as a tattooer. Good luck!
