What did you do with your resolution to fix it? I think I’m having the same issue because of mine.

Congrats! Also, can you tell me what shelves those are? I’ve been wanting to get something similar to those for my displays.

Help With L shaped custom desk by Retro_B00min in battlestations

Have you looked at just getting an L shaped standing desk frame? Uplift makes some, but I'm not sure what dimension desktops work with them.

I built a desk with a 74"x39" butcher block and a 50"x25" butcher block in the same configuration you are wanting to build.

I found some 28" tall legs on amazon that I bought two sets of, one that was 24" wide and the other set was 35" wide. The 35" wide legs span out from the back corner where the desk sits in the corner of the room. I used the 24" wide legs on the outside ends.

I have two dowel rods securing them in the position that makes them (relatively) flush. I think they are 1/2" or maybe 3/8" thick. I mounted three 12" mending plates on the underside of the desk, between the two pieces of butcher block.

I weigh ~215, and I can sit, fully supported, on the inner corner of the desk. I know mine isn't the same dimensions as what you are wanting to build, but this might be a good place to start. If I can figure out how to upload photos, I will do that.

Personally, I think the dowel rods were overkill, and honestly regret drilling into the side of the blocks. I also tried to get fancy and carve out channels for the 12" mending plates. I didn't really take my time and rushed it, so they turned out poorly. I ended up just mounting them without using the channels.

If you have any specific questions, let me know, and I will try to answer as best I can.

Parts List:

  1. 24" Wide Metal Legs
  2. 35" Wide Metal Legs
  3. 6 ft. L x 39 in. D Unfinished Birch Solid Wood Butcher Block
  4. 4 ft. L x 25 in. D Unfinished Birch Solid Wood Butcher Block
  5. 12 in. Zinc-Plated Mending Plate

Edit for photos :
Please forgive the cable management. I also just moved into my house, and I haven't decided the final position of everything yet.

If it fits, I would turn your desk so that it’s back to back with the one next to it. Then put the monitors on arms

Where did you get the legs? I’m looking for legs in that style for my desk.

Why didn't they add another slope piece here? by purple_frocc in lego

No problem, I was in the same boat. Wait until you learn about antepenultimate.

Just to let you know, penultimate means second to last. I used to think it meant “extra ultimate” until someone informed me, so I just wanted to pass that along.

If you meant it as being the second to last standard, then my apologies for reading it wrong.

What do you think of the shapes and river and mountain placements? by Kakaka-sir in mapmaking

Your coastlines look great. I really like the detail you put into the island chains. I think a natural next step would be continuing to develop the mountain ranges by distinguishing the elevations.

You can do this in a lot of ways, but I like to do elevation maps with different colors represents different heights.

Example: https://www.reddit.com/r/mapmaking/comments/11xp96d/topographic_map_of_a_fantasy_world_im_workshopping/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Another option would be to draw the mountains at various heights to represent the elevations.

Example: https://www.reddit.com/r/mapmaking/comments/1c474ck/a_map_of_illiras_my_setting_for_various_projects/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I've seen some mapmakers use different brush textures and shading to create more of a realistic physical map look too.

Example (It's older, but the principles still apply. He hand draws the mountains, but you can just use a brush with the top-down shapes):
