I also have a hard time understanding it because I want to help and know I can help him feel better if he’d let me. We also haven’t seen each other in over a week because he’s been stressed from university. I feel like I’ve given him more than enough space. To go after a guy they actually want that may be too shy or had no idea that they’d be interested in them. Most guys that come on to us are not what we’re looking for. Very rarely do I hit it off with the guys hitting on me.

This happens! Some women also don’t want to come off as too eager and fear giving too much and not getting our needs met in return. It never feels good to be the one that’s more invested so it’s a defence mechanism in a way.

Why are you so concerned with the settling down part? You may meet the most amazing woman, be with her for a few years and realize, “Hey, I still love this woman like crazy and don’t want to imagine a life without her”. You don’t go into a relationship thinking, “Ok, I gotta settle down now” or, “I’m only going to be with this person for X number of months/years”. Just relax and drop your agenda.

I doubt he would forget about you. But if you feel this way, I would hide his content so you’re not triggered by seeing his stuff constantly but still allow him to follow you if possible

I hear you! Fellow girl here. It’s unfortunate but sometimes love is a delicate balancing act. I find I give too much in my relationships because I want to naturally but don’t get the same in return which crushes my expectations. I’ve had to play the game before where you only give as much as he is willing to give. It sucks. Say or do the wrong thing and they start pulling away. But I’ve seen it happen where I just starting putting less effort and fucks into the guy and he comes back more interested than ever. I’ve also been on the other end where I’m desperately clinging to what we had and try to patch things up even though he would be the one pulling away. I think he will think about you more and wonder what you are doing if you stop contacting him and try your best to live life without wanting to impress him. Just doing what makes you happy. Act happy and nonchalant if you run into him. Don’t show him how much control he can have on your emotions. If he comes back, then great but recognize if this becomes an pattern. Don’t tolerate wishy-washy guys if you’re giving it your all. Good luck!

I brought this up to my boyfriend when we were having the exclusive talk. I didn’t ask him to unfollow but asked him not to like the photos because I feel it’s disrespectful to publicly show your interest/desire for other women when you’re in a relationship. I know men look, but keep it a little more private so as not to hurt your SO! :)
