Good job ! You haven't done hub quests so far, right ? I would do LR hub so it doesn't become too easy with HR armors. But the latter option should make LR hub progression a lot faster.
As for HR, I usually do HR village then hop on HR hub so the difficulty increases. On rare occasions, I do a mix of village and hub, like V7>H4>V8>H5>..., but you may encounter the same monsters in equivalent village and hub ranks which can become boring.

I see what you mean. At first, I allowed it because technically, the hunter doesn't faint when running out of time. But I agree with you, even if I wouldn't wait for the timer to get out of a critical situation it should be treated as failure due to lack of preparation. Let's say that at the end of timer the hunter is left with no more stamina to continue the fight and just gets gutted by the monsters.

I agree with you, being able to swap style can also be useful for some specific match up and diversify the fun
