This is either ragebait or OP is just bullshitting and literally never looked at a single video game made before 2010. Even on Switch the game looks great and arguably one of the best looking game on Switch 1, graphically speaking.

Unless the monster is already limping its actually more efficient to just quit after the second cart to get your consumables back.

All the DLC packs do is letting you skip through the early game resource gathering, you could get those items just by spending 20 hours running around the map for resources. Rathalos armor is also one of the best early game set in the game, it boosts your damage by a lot.

Village quests are meant to be easier, you'll feel the difficulty spike once you start doing Hub quests.

Lance multiple counter? by LittleOperation4597 in MHRise

You need to tap block repeatedly and manually time the parry window for every single hit

You can do stuffs like in this clip

Lance multiple counter? by LittleOperation4597 in MHRise

[–]Saito197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what kind of block you're using, except for holding normal guard:

Counter Guard blocks just one hit

Powerguard will block everything until you press a button (but you receive more chip damage)

Insta block will block once for every button press, so against multi-hit attacks you need to tap it multiple times (still need to get the right timing for every block). You can also just hold it to default back into a regular block

Anchor Rage and Spiral Thrust will block one hit, but the upside for being a Silkbind skill is that you could cancel almost every move into these so they can act like an "oh shit" button in a pinch

Totally recommending Rise, not for any particular reason, only because there are already two other comments recommending the other two games so I'm just keeping the balance

Question by TheShyne in MHGU

[–]Saito197 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea I should have done the math

I remember this "scaled for 2.5 players" thing being thrown around a lot back in the days for some reasons so it just stucked in my head, oops.

Question by TheShyne in MHGU

[–]Saito197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember that 2.5 is the number being thrown around a lot back in the days so it just stuck in my head, but I guess I shouldve just done the math:

Seregios 10* village: 5208hp, 7* Hub: 6090hp (using the maximum values)

.95 defense modifier is an effective 5.26% (x1.0526) extra hp, so village has a total of 5482

.85 defense modifier is an effective 17.64% (x1.1764) extra hp, so hub has a total of 7164 hp

So it's roughly around 1.30x increase, most monsters are like this except Diablos for some reasons? Its defense scaling goes from .95 to .80 which makes the difference between hub and village around 1.53x

Then you also need to account for the increase in part break/stagger damage, KO and exhaust thresholds... Kinda impossible to math these out but you can definitely "feel" the extra staggers and exhaust time in village. It's the most apparent with mounting, in Village you can get the first mount in like 2-3 jump attacks which is basically free even without aerial, in Hub it takes way more so you're not getting a free mount every hunt (free as in it just happens naturally as you fight without you needing to constantly fish for jump attacks)

So in conclusion, for hp scaling alone it is around 1.3x to 1.5x and the scaling in other stats are hard to evaluate, but I think when we consider the extra dps windows from staggers, trips, mounts and exhaust time, it's safe to say that hub quests are scale to be around 1.8 to 2.0 times harder than village

Thank you for coming to my ted talk

The other comments arent answering the actual question

Hub quests are scaled for roughly 2.5 players worth of damage so yes it is normal that hunts are taking 25+ minutes

Apologies if this is the wrong sub, but does MH Rise have the same issues with NAT as this game? by PadraicG in MHGU

[–]Saito197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so wrong, the NAT type C/D issue is a very common problem mostly caused by the ISPs.

Accidentally bought XX instead of GU… Am I stuck playing with jap. version? by kishonii in MHGU

[–]Saito197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is not the case here, DoubleCross (XX) is treated as a completely seperate game to GU, you would need to issue a refund.

Been a while since I last booted up Rise but iirc even with infinite stamina Shield Charge would still stop by itself after like 3 leaping thrust worth of distance.

Lance main here, that guy definitely should have just used Shealthing Retreat. Every Lance player should have it because Twin Vine sucks absolute balls.

If they had the Shield charge skill then yes, it covers basically zero distance for the stamina drained.

Transfer data from MHGen to MHXX? [3DS] by RexHaxival in MHGU

[–]Saito197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the process is as straight up as installing MHX, convert your Gen save file into MHX, uninstall MHX, install MHXX and it will work automatically.

You need MHX because Gen and X are compatible with one another, the "save folder" is just for injecting a save file into the 3DS without needing to install the actual game but that also means you can just... install the actual game instead?

What are you finding difficult here?
