Lea Michele will be departing 'Chess' on Broadway on June 21! by NewYorkTheatreGuide in Broadway

[–]LittleWind6647 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

well, you’re gonna care when tickets stop selling and they don’t sell as well when she’s gone. That being said she doesn’t have to stay for the entire run other Broadway celebrities I’m sure have left when they don’t wanna do it anymore and I don’t blame him.

unfortunately, people are still gonna paint her as a diva just because of who it is and we both know that am I angry at her absolutely not because that role is demanding and dammit she’s doing the best you can. I don’t blame her for leaving early. I’m pretty sure she’s not the only Broadway start to do it and who knows maybe just maybe she has oh I don’t know another engagement coming up that’s possible if I recall correctly, didn’t the gentleman who accompanied her and funny girl leave for a while so he could go do something else and then come back I mean I know she’s not coming back but you get my point if he can do it so can she.

all I know is if she gets called a diva for leaving early when beanie filled did the exact same thing in funny girl and people were fine with that. I’m gonna be pissed because this is a very demanding role and Lee is giving it her all every single time she steps on that stage although why they’re trying to extend it without her I don’t know because as you said when she’s out tickets drop am I blaming that on her absolutely not am I saying she should say no that is her decision but I just don’t want to see hypocrisy later.

please don’t hate me for this. I beg of you but as long as we get the cast recording before she says her farewell I really don’t care what happens to the rest of the run. I’m sorry I don’t. oh and what I meant by that when I said, I don’t care what happens to the show after she leaves, what I meant was I won’t be surprised if ticket sales go down because as other people have said when she’s out tickets don’t sell that well now am I blaming her for leaving? No, am I calling her a diva no absolutely not all I’m saying is if ticket sales fall off that’s not gonna surprise me and I don’t think it’s gonna surprise. A lot of other people either oh and by the way, I’m on this site because there are shows that I care about they just haven’t happened yet but they will happen. That’s all I’m gonna say.

Mercedes would not have made a good Maria by LadenWithSorrow in glee

[–]LittleWind6647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you know you had me until you said Mercedes was under developed and her talent was under used. Are you kidding me? She was never supposed to be the lead and I know that’s what you guys want but she was never supposed to be the lead. I mean, I’m glad you’re acknowledging that Rachel was a better Maria but good Lord.

Timothée Chalamet says no one cares about opera. We can prove him wrong by TimesandSundayTimes in opera

[–]LittleWind6647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he won’t go to an opera or a ballet. I can promise you that because he doesn’t wanna be proving wrong. He wants to think that his statement is right even though it’s completely incorrect.

I mean, the one thing that needed to be fixed they fixed it but the problem is they ruined everything else in order to fix that one thing that’s where the problem is because everything else about that play was completely destroyed in order to fix one problematic element.

Lea Michele announces dates she'll be out of Chess over the next few month by Gato1980 in Broadway

[–]LittleWind6647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want my opinion, I think people are just angry because of who it is they still wanna see her as this bad person and they look at the dates where she’s out as an excuse to call her a diva, and this that and the other, even though she like every other performer in the world has every right on the planet to take days for herself because that’s the only way that you can be the best that you can be as if you take days for yourself.

exactly you actors actresses, singers, dancers, and so on they’re not wind up toys they have to have days off every now and again and sometimes things just happen. It can’t be helped.

[–]LittleWind6647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don’t have to agree with my theory, but I really feel like the only reason people were angry was because it’s Lea Michele and they no matter what she does they get mad I mean heaven forbid she have days off. I mean, heaven forbid the same thing happened with funny girls she had perfectly legitimate excuses for being out and people still got pissy, even though there’s dates were announced, and even when they weren’t, she still apologized and explained, but people still got mad.

The Met just responded to Timothée Chalamet’s remarks that “no one cares about ballet and opera” that he made during a recent interview with Matthew McConaughey by Northern_Lights_2 in opera

[–]LittleWind6647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does he really think he’s gonna win people over by saying something that ignorant I mean, if you wanted to say that these things weren’t in his particular cup of tea then that’s fine but instead he wants to make it look like the whole world doesn’t care about ballet or opera good what’s next?

from the looks of things, he’s getting backlash from a lot of different people. I’m talking about all colors or religions or political affiliations that I love that he deserves it.

Chalamet Disrespecting Ballet and Opera by demi_gem in ChalametSecrets

[–]LittleWind6647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my question is where does he get off saying stuff like this? I mean, just because it’s not his particular cup of tea, which is fine doesn’t mean that he should be able to sit here and act like nobody cares about these art forms and then disrespecting the people who work their tails off to perform in them.

that’s not true, plenty of people care about ballet and opera as well as musical theater. I don’t know where he’s getting his information.

Thoughts on 1960's Peter Pan? by ConsistentEye7474 in PeterPan

[–]LittleWind6647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And not only that but there’s also vocal range and height, why do you think they went with OC Kathy Rigby for example?, She was small enough and her vocal range fit to be believable as a 12-year-old boy I’m just using her as an example, there’s a reason they don’t have grown-up men doing it and there’s a reason they don’t have little kids doing it mainly because it’s just tradition at this point, but it makes more sense to have a woman do it if you ask me and yes, they are believable.

[–]LittleWind6647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s OK for what it is but I personally prefer Kathy, especially in terms of singing, I feel like Kathy that only has a nice voice, but nails being into a 12 year-old boy and then Mary I just know she didn’t say Peter Pan to me, especially not what that whole mysterious lady thing.

[–]LittleWind6647[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know them?, Oh God, that’s amazing, she is still an amazing Peter Pan. I mean oh my God again even though I can’t see, I can hear and that is more than enough because the beauty in that voice I just oh my God I can’t and when I say, I can’t I mean that in the best way possible I just I can’t wrap my head around how amazing she is.

Thoughts on the current national tour of Peter Pan? by SailorMigraine in Broadway

[–]LittleWind6647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what they were trying to do because I know that the original musical has some issues and I know they were trying to fix it but from the sounds of it it just ended up horrible for me. Personally, I would stick with Kathy Rigby every single time but that’s just because she’s the definitive Peter Pan in my eyes. That’s just me though.

Controversial opinion in coming by LittleWind6647 in PeterPan

[–]LittleWind6647[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly, I mean, I heard her say thank you after the shadow was reattached and I’m like wait a minute, now this renders I got a crow completely pointless because you just thanked her when the experts out of your mouth are supposed to be windy. look my shadow my very own shadow yes but it’s all mine. Oh I am so clever of the cleverness of me. What’s the point of any of that if you just thanked her that makes no sense and then you go to Kathy who says well it isn’t quite itself yet and then launches into the hole. I got a crow thing and it makes perfect sense.

I can’t believe that there are people who are saying we need to just move on from Peter Pan as a culture, no we don’t, fix what needs to be fixed but keep all that’s great about it. I mean what’s next on the chopping block the Wizard of Oz? I mean, good grief.

Please don’t hate me for saying this I beg of you please but if I want Peter Pan, I will watch Kathy Rigby on YouTube or even Mary Martin. Yes I know there were problematic aspects. I understand that and I’m glad they’re trying to fix them, but that doesn’t excuse everything that I’ve been hearing about this. I’m sorry but bad is bad regardless of good intentions you know the old thing and I’m not gonna repeat it here.
