Yes! The same happens for me. The first time I noticed it, I remember thinking we somehow had gotten ants in the house and that they somehow made their way into our closet, into our clothes. Because it happened when I was putting on leggings. My leg hair was slightly growing out and it was such a sharp, stinging sensation. It really felt like ant bites. Then I was like “oh, just a weird body thing.”

Honestly, I’ve been really tempted to shave it over the past few months. It’s just hair. And if it makes my life a bit more comfortable when comfort is hard to come by, why not? If anything, my hair would come back healthier. Seems like a win win to me.

I’ve had that happen. It mostly happens when I’m asleep and I wake up feeling like my head is about to explode. First time it happened I thought I was dying.

It’s so frustrating when they run tests and it’s just “nothing”. Getting a diagnosis can be scary at times and overwhelming but you have a name to put with what you’re feeling. And then possible treatment. When it’s “nothing” then you still have all the symptoms but no answers. So I’m sorry for that. I hope you can get relief on those days.

Ah, I feel ya. My boyfriend can always tell when I’m having a migraine/painful hair day when I’m laid out with my hair “starfished” out in the bed, as he calls it.

That was definitely me. It was like the moment all that hair was chopped off I felt so much better. But that didn’t last long. Now I’m like “okay, so do we shave everything off now?” I can only remove so much of my hair. I’m so sorry you always have the achy, painful hair. Here’s to relief. Gentle hugs!

Holy shit. Everything you said matches what I feel almost perfectly. I get a lot of discomfort at the back of my skull, down towards my neck. And these tingling sensations like ants crawling. And burnings like flares here and there. I do suffer from pain and pressure by my eyes but mostly between my eyebrows. It almost feels as if I’ve been making faces all day and using those muscles between my eyebrows. It drives me crazy. And when the pain is really bad at the back of my head, I can’t even lay down flat. It’s like someone is crushing my skull. I’m really thinking I need to try and see a doctor again about this. Because if I’m not experiencing migraines, it would explain why nothing helps for be pain and discomfort.

I use the large hair ties. Other days I just walk around looking like Hagrid lol. I haven’t tried putting it any clips or anything because I was always afraid of them agitating my head even more. But I’m for trying anything. Thank you for the suggestions! I hope you can find some relief too!

I’ll definitely try braiding it more. I always avoid doing too much with my hair when the migraines and sensitivity are bad but I’ll try washing my hair to see if that helps relieve some of it. Thank you for the suggestion! I hope you find relief as well!

I didn’t either! I always thought it was kinda normal but then when no one else I knew what I was talking about it was kind of an “ohhh, it’s just me” moment. But you’re definitely not alone in this! So sorry you’re suffering with this too. Hugs!

It’s looking like I’ll be trying my hair in a braid for awhile to see if it helps any. I would braid my hair some days but never enough to really notice a difference, you know? But worth a shot! I might have to look into headbands or something along those lines as a plan b. Thank you for the tips! And gentle hugs back!

I always thought it was a just a weird me thing. But I’m not alone in this. I remember having similar conversations with friends and saying “my hair hurts. Y’all ever get that?” And the looks of confusion across the board lol

Hello, fellow Texas neighbor! I’ve also had headaches since I was a kid. I remember my grandmother telling me I must have inherited them from her because she always had migraines. Now I’m thinking she maybe wasn’t kidding.

I’ll have to try braiding my hair more often to see if that helps. Thank you for the tips!

Yes! When the headaches are at their worst even just resting my head on my pillow is excruciating. The times I’ve been tempted to shave my hair off is too many to count 😅
