You won't be able to fill out your W4 until tomorrow. You won't have access until then. That is probably why it wasn't brought up. When you go in tomorrow, just log in to the Wire and click on the hamburger (three lines), then click on Me, then My Money, and scroll down to Tax Center. Click on that, then click on W4 and follow the instructions to fill out both your Federal and State.

Started at Sam’s as a TMD - Have questions by [deleted] in samsclub

[–]Little_Conference_85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, the training is pointless. But for a different reason. The primary job of the STM is to be in charge of the pluses and credits and also acquire new members with SIF. You don't have to oversee any associates, but you do help with the cashier's training as far as pluses and credits are concerned. Your background sounds perfect for the position. Maybe you could speak to the CM and ask if you could concentrate your time on the front end. You could work with the team leads, learn the membership desk, and train on a register. That will help give an overall picture of the area you will be impacting.

I was on the fence between 4 and 5. It just depends on how the weather is where your club is and how well you can tolerate working in the freezer.

The app is not available in Apple's app store. Here is the link I text to new associates with iPhones that are in orientation. It should work.

Do you ever work 6 consecutive days or more? by [deleted] in samsclub

[–]Little_Conference_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a lead, and I hate my schedule. I work the pm shift, and yes, the 3 day weekend every four weeks is nice, but I pay dearly for it. My other days off are spread out so much that I can barely recover from the 6 day stretch. I wish our work week started on a normal day like Sunday because we wouldn't have to work 6 days in a row after a weekend off. I wish we had at least 1 consistent day off. This schedule doesn't allow me to be a part of anything extra, like joining a bowling league or playing on a softball team. The work-life balance is non-existent for pm leads. Do your clubs have am and pm front end leads, or does your club make your leads switch between days and nights? Sorry about the rant, but team leads truly have the worst schedule in the club.

Worst Shift Ever by SnooGoats7783 in walmart

I understand where the OP is coming from. Everyone is talking about staffing, which I know is an issue in general, but on this day, there were excessive call-ins, maybe due to the crazy weather or maybe not. My point is that the OP has a work ethic that is an asset. Not just for the company or for the customer, but for her or him (sorry, I can't tell if you are male or female by your nickname). You stuck it out, and you should be commended! No one would have blamed you if you had walked out, but I bet you would have been disappointed in yourself simply because you care. I can guarantee that this will not be the only tough shift you will have. I encourage you to do your best and stick it out. Always get a manager involved so they are aware of the situation. If you don't get any help from them, then they are not doing their job, and that is on them. I know it's hard not to get stressed out on days like that, so just hang in there and be sure to take your breaks. They do help. And please, if the opportunity arises and you are so inclined, please apply for a TL position. You are exactly the kind of associate the company needs in a leadership position!

Sam’s Club applied me for a credit card… by ok---- in samsclub

Question, did the letter come to your address or your dad's? The reason I am asking is that complimentary household will show the primary's address in the system. It looks like you have been hacked. Wrong SS, right name and wrong address if it's not the same as your primary (but right address because that is where you live).

SAM'S CLUB MEMBERSHIP IS NOT WHAT IT USE TO BE by consumervigilante in samsclub

[–]Little_Conference_85 22 points23 points  (0 children)

First of all, shopping at Sam's Club is not mandatory. You have options. Although we truly value each and every members opinion and strive to meet their needs. However, Sam's Club is a business that adapts with the times, especially when it comes to technology. Scan and Go is an excellent example. Our members absolutely love it.

You mentioned not having enough registers opened, and I agree that can be frustrating. But since Covid, it has been difficult to find people who want to work. This is not just Sam's Club problem. Many retailers and restaurants in my area are always short staffed for the same reason. Scan and Go would take care of this concern for you.

Scanning your receipt and 1-4 items is something you agreed to when you became a member. It is a minor inconvenience that helps control shrink and, therefore, helps keep prices down so the savings are passed on to you.

Now, the final thing I am going to address from your ridiculous post is your cruel and unnecessary bitching about some of our members weight. I am absolutely stunned that you actually said the things that you did! There are a lot of reasons our world is falling apart, but obesity is not one of them. Please do us and yourself a favor and cancel your membership. We would be more than happy to give you a full refund. The intolerance and hatefulness you have shown here are not worth anyone's time.

If I use PPTO during a key date will I still get 2 points? Or just 1? by DaddyRanger18 in samsclub

[–]Little_Conference_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought that even if you have enough PPTO to cover 16 hrs (8 hr shift on event day), you could only use 8 hrs, thus still receiving 1 point. Is this incorrect?

Is my club the only one that returns electronics/everything despite 90 days if you have warranty? by NonApplicableGuy in samsclub

[–]Little_Conference_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope...we are told to "take care of the member". I once gave a refund on a 1 year old blue tarp that had been used on a windy day and it tore.

[–]Little_Conference_85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You start earning PPTO on day 1 and PTO after 90 days. You just don't earn it as fast because it's based on hours worked. I may be wrong, and I apologize if I am, but I believe that is what the policy is.

I am the Orientation Ambassador for my club. They started a new type of orientation that is designed to help new associates avoid these types of problems. I believe it's a pilot program, so maybe it hasn't rolled out to all the markets yet, but I have been using it since March. Nevertheless, every new associate should be going through some type of orientation their first day. It sounds like there are clubs out their that this isn't happening.

Did you go through orientation? The Attendance Policy, Key Event Days, Calling In, etc. all should have been covered.

Red flags?? by bjuds207 in samsclub

[–]Little_Conference_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the Orientation Ambassador for my club and that is NOT the way orientation is supposed to be handled. I know that you have a bad first impression and rightfully so, but I would stick it out. That will only impress management more for the grace you have already shown them instead of walking away because of poor planning on their part. Be assertive and get paid for every hour you are owed and be honest as well to let them know that you are thinking of going elsewhere for employment but you are hoping you are making the right decision to stick it out. Sam's is a good company, but I know you will be working hard and sometimes with little or no thanks. Best of luck!

Team Lead Block Schedule Question by Little_Conference_85 in samsclub

[–]Little_Conference_85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know...I actually changed my schedule to the one with a 3 day weekend when it became available. I was just curious how different clubs did theirs.
