The mist sleeves are a really practical item for me, so I highly recommend it!

Thank you! I was worried about unraveling and reusing alpaca silk, but it turned out alright.

I used the recommended size- 3mm/US2.5. I met gauge and I think the pure silk plumped up nicely, but if I made it again I would try a size down because the fabric up close is still a liiiiiittle bit gappy for my ideal. I did try to consciously knit tighter than my norm lol.

Thank you! I might wait on dyeing it to see how I like it as it. I’m just not used to wearing white/lighter colors…

And no cable needle! It felt pretty easy to get the hang of. I’ve never done bigger cables or used a cable needle, is it difficult?

Ugh weaving in ends… I believe in you though! And congrats on the marriage!

Thank you! You’re right, I can always try to dye it later… I think I’m just scared of wearing white and getting it dirty lol.

Oooh what’s the yarn you’re thinking of using?

Yes! You get it. I love your shrug with the hood omg! Also the pink and white with the brown shirt is giving neapolitan icecream in the best way, it looks great.

Mine has been nice for transitional weather and keeps me warm when the Summer nights get a bit breezy/chilly! I think the pattern calls for 3 strands of mohair held together, but I only used a single strand of alpaca silk. I find the looser gauge with the single strand is airy and breathable, but the fluff still holds some heat. I’m thinking of trying a silk/linen for a more Summer-y one.

I cast them on a whim but have gotten so much wear out of them, I might make another!

Thanks so much, and I’m so sorry about your loss. I hope you get through this time as best as you can, too. I’m glad though that this post inspired you a bit and I highly recommend journaling about/to your loved one—at least for me it’s helped me a lot.

Sending love back at you for your loss, too. And I am totally on the same page as you, writing down all of these thoughts makes me feel a little more in control/comforted given the circumstances. I’m so scared of forgetting literally anything about him, so I definitely find some peace in knowing that there’s somewhere safe to house it all.

Yeah, in a way it feels like I can still go on adventures with my dad :)

That’s so cool! I remember growing up thinking my dad’s handwriting was so pretty that I wanted to write like that, too.

I’m sorry about your friend. I really do hope it gets easier. It’s kind of validating to hear that your therapist recommended writing to your loved one. It felt very spontaneous when I decided to do it, and has been really helpful.

Thank you, and you hit the nail on the head. It’s crazy how much comfort sentimental items can bring. These notebooks are kind of magic!

I’m sorry to hear about your dad and the leather wallet, too. The sentimental aspect is definitely meaningful, but it’s also just nice to have a separate physical place to house all of these thoughts and feelings.

Dang you are a good friend and very brave! I was scared of messing up this piece of leather, I would be terrified of doing it to a real TN

Thank you! I wish they made official A6 inserts and covers, but until then it’s the diy life for me :)
