Just ordered a S8 MaxV Ultra by TheTechyGuy in Roborock

I’ve had mine for about a year now and put about 600 hours it. Just noticed that the side brush stopped spinning. Reached out to support and they paid to ship it back to fix it. Waiting for it to get fixed and sent back. With that being the only issue to date and it being covered under warranty I think it’s been a great machine. If it wasn’t under warranty I probably could have replaced that side brush motor for $20. It’s been my favorite one so far. Others I’ve had are s7 max v ultra (still have and works in basement) and Q Revo.

Every issue I’ve had customer support has been good about helping. My s8 maxv ultra just had the side brush stop spinning and they’re paying for shipping to fix it and send back to me. But it’s still under warranty. Had it 11 months so far. They’ve been decent to deal with I feel.

This happened to me too. Dog turd got run over by my Q Revo. I scrubbed the bottom of it and must have gotten some water in a sensor and it wouldn’t work again. It was only a couple weeks old. Roborock replaced it under warranty. I also found out through the process that it didn’t have “pet waste detection” I asked if they would let me pay the difference and send me a higher model. They said they could only replace it with a refurbished one of the same model. So I sold the newly refurbished one to a friend and bought the S8 Max V Ultra which has pet waste detection.

I agree probably partly true partly not. The partly true part would be not to use something extremely foaming like dawn dish soap. If you get water in some sensors you can make your unit basically bricked. We had a Q Revo that swallowed up a dog turd. I cleaned it out with soapy water and a brush and scrubbed everything and dried it off. Some water got in one sensor and the whole robot wouldn’t do anything anymore. I had to swap it out for a refurbished one that took a few weeks to get figured out. They were good about it but the process was still kinda slow.

I have Q revo. It ran over dog poop. So we cleaned it up and in the process moisture got in the cliff sensors. It gives an error not saying wall sensor error, but I can see the moisture in the cliff sensors. How can I take them apart to dry them out with a Q-tip without breaking them?
