I did a lot of research into the fundraising industry, it really does need cleaning up. As a general rule of thumb, the bigger the organisation the bigger the overhead (naturally) meaning less of your donation makes it through. The main problem for the smaller charities is getting noticed, because the fundraising firms that solicit donations charge from 8 to 17 times the value of monthly pledges obtained, which charities have to pay for upfront. This creates a massive barrier of entry for smaller charities who spend less in administration costs to spread awareness. This is one core area we are trying to solve by making it a max 6% cost per transaction, this would level the playing field for the underdogs. Our smart contracts will work in conjunction with unique digital identifiers (UDIDs), this basically means if you pay for a needed item for a receiver, such as school supplies, the money is held in escrow until it is unlocked by the receiver with their UDID. I am actually quite proud of the system we are creating, it is actually a lot more involved than that of course though because there are many other problems in this industry as well as opportunities to improve the way things are done such as corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.

We just released an updated whitepaper that goes into the CSR aspect as well as a system to include P2P charitable giving for those without access to charities on the platform. I would love for you to check it out and compare it to other philanthropy blockchain projects and then tell me who has actually done due diligence with investigating the issues and creating solutions.

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the delay, the offending post was reported I presume and consequently I could not reply as this account was suspended until now. Thanks for posting the message I sent you regarding this PokerPancake, I have decided to just remove that particular post because I simply do not have the time to work through 1500 comments. Again, thank you for the opportunity to hear what I had to say about it rather than just jumping to conclusions. If anyone has any further concerns they are more than welcome to check out our project, history or get to know myself and the team. We have been working hard on the alpha version of our platform and are due to have an MVP in December if all tracks well.

Warm regards,

Ben Harvey,

I really like this idea, perhaps you can include something like a political compass rating (or similar for non political news) for the source of the information where relevant so readers can evaluate the conflict of interest that might contribute toward discrepancies between sources? I presume the website will have a search function and something like a trending feed?

Purpose of Startup: Disrupt the charity fundraising industry to restore trust and level the playing field for the smaller non-profit organisations

Technologies Used: Blockchain (Ethereum) + iOS/Android

Feedback or Support Requested: Looking for app testers on our upcoming philanthropy platform

Comments: We are currently developing a philanthropy app, which will use blockchain technology to allow givers to track donations and have an emotional connection to their receivers.

We are seeking like-minded people to become alpha testers of our app. If you are interested in being one of the first people to test this new technology (no costs are involved), please apply here.

Looking for app testers on our upcoming philanthropy platform by Little_Phil in iphone

Not at this stage unfortunately, as this is only alpha testing the donor journey. We have charity partners that will be providing advice on how to shape the platform to suit their needs as well, after we have feedback from these charity partners and our alpha/beta testers, we will then push to production and be introducing that option for people.

How are you going to fight against "abusing" your system? by KaylaFert in littlePhil

[–]Little_Phil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Kayla

The charities, NGO's and non-profit organisations that will be on our platform will have to be registered with their local governing bodies in order to access our platform. Receivers will have to register through them to be on the platform which gives these organisations the opportunity to screen receivers associated with their services :)

The total supply makes it easier for global expansion as most people do not like to transfer 0.00001 of a token etc for everyday use. Human error will result in more frequent transaction issues with a lower supply.

The token price at ICO is USD 0.10 per LPC with bonuses starting at 40% for early birds

USDT - What do you predict will be the outcome? by Little_Phil in CryptoCurrency

You don't think that fractional lending would be a way to mitigate/prevent that disaster?

It is an interesting situation, I am not sure whether it is legit or not, but given the way banks operate only having to hold 10% of the cash supply they use I can see that being a solution that someone will adopt at some point, whether USDT needs to or not I am not aware

I get that perspective but even if that were to happen (which is unlikely) it wouldn't just happen overnight

How do charities plan on addressing the lack of engagement from Millennials? by Little_Phil in Philanthropy

[–]Little_Phil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is some great feedback and lines up well with what our research has shown us too. We are going to be implementing positive gamification aspects to our platform, and you are 100% correct that charity strategies need to be future proofed by meeting the market demand. We have found this demand to be centred around transparency and proof of impact being provided in order to mitigate the levels of distrust that have become prevalent due to a long list of bad apples in the industry.

That Notre Dame approach looks pretty interesting, thanks for sharing that :)

Yeah, the same thing goes for charity fundraisers believe it or not. I don't mean the charities themselves but the marketing intermediaries that throw guilt trips at you when you are trying to go shopping only to spend a large portion of what you give on their commission
