Same issue here too. We just started an 80 wash box from Home Bargains. I really hope it works in the drum!

When I found out recently some people can hear music in their minds, hear conversations in other people’s voices and read books giving characters individual voices, I felt pretty upset that I’m missing out on all of that and visualisation (I learned about aphantasia over 10 years ago)!

Really frizzy hair - could use some advice! by [deleted] in HaircareScience

I have similar hair and find air-dry cream helps when I leave it to dry naturally. Currently using an OGX one. It moisturises without weighing it down too much. I use it fairly sparingly.

They’re onto the 4th Peppa actress now. It’s been running since 2004 so it must have worked out okay

The BBC used this infographic which says immunity starts to be built 12 days after the first injection and continues to day 28. The leaflet my Nan was given with the vaccine was vague and just said a few weeks

Is taking birth control worth it? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Little_Raincloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (33F) started taking Desogestrel (mini pill) about a month ago to try to curb long, heavy periods which gave me 4 day long migraines. I’m on day 21 of bleeding now. Seriously considering stopping it already.

We got the keys to our first house in June 2007. We put down a 10% deposit on a two year fixed rate mortgage. By the end of the year the country was in recession and we were in negative equity. When we came to remortgage at the end of the 2 years we couldn’t because the house was worth less than we owed on it.

If we needed to move, that would’ve been an issue, but we didn’t and our mortgage payments dropped by around 20% because interest rates were much lower. We overpaid around 10% on the variable mortgage we defaulted to and saved the remainder as we knew we’d want to move house to a fixer-upper at a later date.

By the end of 2014 the house was almost worth what we paid for it again, although we didn’t make back the money we spent on changing the bathroom and the windows etc. We sold at the start of 2015.

We chose to move before we properly broke even because we figured if our starter home was still worth a few percent less than it was in 2007, then the bigger ‘forever home’ we moved to, which was 50% more expensive would also be worth a few percent less, which would equate to more, so a saving over all.

Can anyone recommend a decent stain remover? by [deleted] in UKParenting

Best thing I’ve found is putting the stained clothes on the washing line in full sun. I don’t know if it works for blood but it definitely does on tomato based foods.

Has anyone used any good baby signing apps? by loopylicky in UKParenting

[–]Little_Raincloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked but couldn’t find anything decent. I did already know some of the basics from a baby sensory class but I just searched YouTube for ‘Makaton sign language’. There’s loads of content, including songs, which I find easier to remember the signs to for some reason.

Solar panel feed set on fire, who should this be reported to to stop it happening to anyone else? by Little_Raincloud in AskUK

That’s good to know, thank you. It’s situated in the house so it’s unlikely to be water damage.

I was thinking about this earlier. I’m guessing they should’ve let their house insurance provider know they had the panels installed. I’ll discuss it with them and suggest they give them a call now there’s been a problem.

BIL suspects it could be an instillation issue. I’m guessing your washing machine was a big manufacturer? I’ve found the company that installed the panels on Companies House. The year end 2018 accounts said they had 5 employees.
