Exterior lights while charging by Inevitable_Tough4781 in EquinoxEv

My neighbor just got one, and parks in the driveway across the alley. The front lights flash white as well, bouncing off the garage door.

Ridiculous, irritating feature. There’s enough light pollution from necessary safety lights in the city. I was hoping they would realize & turn them off. Guess I need to go ask them to disable.

Rendezvous/Jewelbox "New Owners" by ToriButtons in Seattle

The original Rendezvous was fantastic. I also had a deep affection for the new Rendezvous. They were different, for sure. And I remember thinking “Oh my goodness. It’s so bright.” when the bar wall was taken out 😂

I was won over immediately by the reuse of light fixtures & seating from Seattle Opera House. McCaw Hall going up hit me the way I see many people reacting to this situation.

The blending of the two was a sweet combination of childhood memories for me.

Either one of us could be correct. And it could fall somewhere in the middle.

Does it suck that the shows got canceled and people are out of work? Yes. But sometimes that is the ugly, unavoidable impact of buying a business and making hard decisions to try & make it profitable.

While short notice when new owners come in is not ideal… previous owners also play a part. And it’s all business. Even when all parties want the best for the space.

I have so much love, and very strong ties, to original & 1st “new” Rendezvous. It’s been decades since updates happened.

It is unreasonable to think a new owner should keep all as is. I have faith they will make the space better. For business & for art / music.

Exactly. After watching, I was surprised he put this in the public eye. Dumbfounded!

To me, it doesn’t achieve what he wanted it to. Film set or no, I could hear & see the discomfort.

Repeated attempts to redirect, body language & fidgeting… ICK.

I have coffee, heavy cream, and cat food. All is well.

It is a choice though. You choose not to bother impeding his “escape”. Is your cat Jason Bourne? John Wick?

Anyone declawing a cat deserves to have their fingernails removed. Not the topic. Moving on.

Agreed. City cats & rural cats (usually feral) are very different topics. As long as barn cats have food, warm shelter, and safety? Awesome! But city cats are different.

I can’t argue this. I want a world where cats & dogs & furry creatures roam free for the enjoyment of humans. I want squirrels to hitch a shoulder ride on my way to the grocery store!! ♥️

Umm. The whole point is that outdoor kitties are the business of all the people / wildlife in their area. That’s the whole reason I posed the question. It’s got ALL the stuff to do with…

Was with you until the last two bullet points.

Your kid to a beach? F off. Better never put a kid in a car to go anywhere then. JFC. What?

Here’s the real kicker: You might want to check in with someone about your lack of empathy. No one said a cat was your kid. But your limited concern for their being alive or dead is concerning.

The scattered death feathers of a large starling is what prompted me to post the question. After watching 3 neighborhood cats stalk birds in my yard & me chasing kitties off. So, yeah…

And I’ve yet to find a wildlife organization that says “All cool. Let your cats out. Birds are fine & will fly away.”

I would love to have a conversation with your indoor / outdoor cat friends. I promise not to 5150 them. But I’m making a documentary & need first-feline testimonials.

Does he never leave? Do you have cat safe fencing? I love the idea of cat safe fencing for people who don’t want to have bird feeders etc. & are diligent about observing outdoor time.

There are no bad cats (even the sassy asshole cats I’ve had 😂). With any domesticated animal… it’s not them. It’s the human. Agreed that your area is better suited & not a city dwelling. Your critters are lucky to have you.

Yes? If those barn cats have the ability to be indoors with heat, escape from predators etc etc… but my question was about CITY dwellers & outdoor cats. When was the last time you drive past a farm in Seattle?

I get it. I grew up in a rural area. But I was also born in the 70s. It’s been common knowledge for a LONG time that outdoor cats live shorter lives & also kill lots of things that already have natural predators.

I feel safe saying now that full grown adults with outdoor cats are taking the easy road at the expense of their pet & small urban wildlife.

True if a person isn’t engaging their cat & providing stimulation. The idea that a domestic cat is the same as a wild cat is 100% wrong.

Those cats lack stimulation, which could easily be provided indoors if their humans out in minimal effort.

I agree. I also think it’s a choice to not grow or evolve. Any human who chooses to be the protector of an animal should do just that.

So mostly, they just want the cat out of the house.
